Bound to be Best Friends

Chapter Twelve

The day had finally arrived and we were off on our road trip adventure. We were all meeting up at Em's house so we could just leave from there. I only had about half an hour left before I had to be there so I raced around my room making sure I had everything I needed for our trip to the beach. I was one of those nervous packers that felt they need to take everything with them just incase. I finished packing my bag and raced down to the kitchen to sit down and have breakfast with my parents before I go. They were a bit nervous about me going away so far to the beach with 3 friends but they had warmed up to the idea by now.

"Hey kiddo, are you excited about going away today?" Dad said as I entered the room.

"I'm really excited! I really need a bit of a holiday, my mind has been everywhere lately." I replied making note to leave out the fact that I'm going away with the person that is the main cause of it and how nervous I was to be staying under the same roof with him for the next 4 days. On the other hand I was so excited to be able to spend time with Emma, so much had been going on with the both of us lately that we had hardly spent any time together, let alone fill each other in on everything that has been happening.

"I'm happy that you get a little break from being around here too sweetheart, but remember you have to let is know when you get there and just send us little updates so we know you safe." Mum added in.

"Of course mum" I replied with a smile.

I love that my parents are so understanding and allow me to go out and live my life without restricting me. I understand that they worry but they don't let that stop me from doing things that I want to do.

We all ate breakfast together, some delicious pancakes my dad had made. My dad always makes the best breakfast foods. We chatted about me going away and being safe but it made me really excited to be going on a holiday. Time had passed and I had to get going over to Emma's house, mum had to drop me off because we were all going away in the same car. Mum and I loaded my stuff into her car and set off to Emma's house.

We pulled up out the front and I said my last goodbye's to my mum before getting my things out of her car. I knocked on Emma's door and she opened it with a huge smile on her face.

"OUR HOLIDAY IS FINALLY HERE" Emma screeched with excitement.

"It is! I'm really looking forward to relaxing for a few days" I replied.

" Come in! We will be leaving in about 20 minutes, Noah should be here any second and Max is just upstairs finishing getting ready" Emma said

We sat down on the couch and started catching up on a few things. The door bell chimed signalling someone at the door.

"Ava could you please get that" Emma said with a smirk on her face as she ran off upstairs.

I walked over to the door, opening it to reveal Noah standing there with a bag beside him. I stared at him a little longer than I should have with his hair perfectly done and muscles out through his tank top. I drew my eyes away before starting a conversation hoping it wouldn't get awkward.

"Hey Noah, are you excited to be going to the beach?" I blurted out in one long sentence hoping he hadn't realised i was staring.

"I am yeah it'll be a lot of fun, how about you?" Noah replied slightly awkwardly

"I am excited to! it'll be good to relax for a bit" I replied

"Come on love birds it's time to get going" Max said as he and Emma rushed out to the car with excitement.

Noah and I looked at each other with embarrassed looks on our faces before closing the door and walking to the car. I get a feeling this holiday isn't going to be as relaxing as I'd hoped it would.
