CHAPTER SEVEN
Janelle's POV
The moment I said those three words, I froze, completely shocked.
I'm so stupid. I just couldn't control my emotions and my mouth! Ugh!
He was going to push me away and say that I meant nothing to him. He would look at me in disgust and tell me that he can't love me back because I was just a filthy rogue that came across his territory three years ago. He was going to humiliate me in front of everyone. I know it would happen, I just know.
However, none of these happened, because the second I released those words from my mouth is the time when I heard a purring sound from his chest, and he hugged me tighter, almost suffocating me, but not entirely, if that makes sense.
I was rooted to the ground. My emotions are so confusing. I'm happy, relieved, confused, sad, and disappointed all at the same time.
I'm happy and relieved because he didn't do anything bad like I had thought. At least he didn't humiliate me at my own birthday party.
I was confused because he purred and hugged me. Tightly, might I add. It was like he was expressing something through this one hug.
Does that mean that he's happy?
Does he loves me too?
No, he didn't say it back, and that's what's making me sad and disappointed. I know I shouldn't expect him to love me back, but I can't help it. I had hoped that during our three years together, he would love me. Sadly, he still doesn't love me...
He released me from his vice-like grip, smiling.
A smile that we rarely see. A smile that really reaches his eyes.
The pack instantly became silent, probably even gaping at the way Giovanni was smiling at me.
He turned to the pack and said, "Let's all have fun, shall we?"
