CHAPTER EIGHT

Janelle's POV

"Alright. Listen everyone! We're going to play a game! Children, please gather around here." Giovanni said as soon as he stepped on the little stage that was decorated with these very cute wolf figures.

What can I say? We're proud being werewolves.

All of the children in our pack obeyed their Alpha, looking excited as they wait for further instructions.

"Silence please." Giovanni said, and everyone went silent. I guess it's not because he said 'silence', but because he said the word 'please'. It's not everyday that that word would be uttered by an Alpha; especially if it's Giovanni.

"Okay. This game is called Bring Me." he announced as the silence continued. "I will say what you have to bring me, and there would be an equivalent prize for the first person who can bring me what I want. For example, I said 'Bring Me a Globe', you have to bring me a globe. Even if it's a keychain, as long as it's a globe, it's acceptable. If you brought me the globe from my office, well I'll have to punish you then because you stole my globe." he said seriously, which made the children nervous. Then he laughed, "I'm just kidding. Don't worry, I won't ask you to bring me things that are hard to find. Now, are there any questions?"

The whole population of the children shook their heads.

"Then let's get started." he said.

What Giovanni's doing is actually making me think, Is this a children's party? The children are enjoying and I'm just here watching! I mean, hey! It's my birthday!

"Bring me..." Giovanni trailed and all of the children looks up at him expectantly.

"...pure white hair." Giovanni finished.

As soon as he said that, the children of our pack started running towards our Elders who were at least 70 years of age. They are the oldest wolves in our pack, and there are at least 10 of them or more. They were all having gray or white hairs.

The Elders, looking so terrified of the mob of children that are coming towards them, started to run and hide.

I laughed. Maybe it's not so bad to have my birthday like a children's party at all. It's entertaining!

Out of the corner of my eyes, I noticed Lily. She wasn't moving from her place. Instead, she was just looking curiously at our packmates. I walked towards her direction and kneeled in front of her. Then, I asked, "Is something wrong Lily?"

She looked at me and shook her head. "Nothing, Luna. I was just thinking. Why do they have to go to the Elders to have white hair, when they can have mine? They just have to ask me."

I frowned. "But Lily, your hair is black."

Her hair is really black, like raven black, and it's shiny. Giovanni asked to have pure white hair. So, why did she say that they should have just asked for her hair?

She giggled. "Don't frown Luna. You will look like a banana."

A banana?

"Mommy always says that a monkey eats a banana because it's always frowning up at the monkey. That's why mommy always reminds me to smile, not to frown, so that the monkey won't eat me." she explained. "You should smile too! So you won't be eaten by a monkey!"

Oh. What an explanation.

I will have to meet her mom at some point. She sounds cool.

I smiled. "Okay. I'll keep that in mind." I touched her soft hair and said, "Now, tell me. Do you have white hair? Because I can't see one. All I see is black."
