Justin licked his ice cream a couple of times as we walked down the street over to the park.
We walked around in silence as we both ate our ice cream.
"L-let's sit d-down," he suggested.
"Okay," I agreed following him as we walked over to a spot on the grass under a tree.
Pattie had called me this morning if to tell me that she'd be home today by six. Justin and I decided to go out and then we got ice cream.
Once he had finished his ice cream he laid down, resting his head on my lap as he looked up at the tree that was giving us shade.
"H-how old d-do you think that t-tree is?" He asked as he pointed up at it.
"Hmm, if proabably very old, I'd say 100 years maybe more," I said taking the last spoonful of my ice cream.
"W-wow, th-that's very o-old," he said.
I nodded in agreement as I put my ice cream cup down and placed my hand over his forehead before slowly running my fingers through his soft brown hair.
He seemed to enjoy the feeling because he smiled and closed his eyes.
We went back to his house after about half an hour. As we sat down to watch a movie I noticed he started to yawn. We stayed up a little too late yesterday so he was sleepy.
Just as he started falling asleep his mom walked in, "Hello, I'm home."
Justin turned and smiled before quickly standing up and running over to her. "M-mommy!"
I smiled as I got up, starting to pick my things up.
"Hi hun, how've you been? I missed you," Pattie said as she kissed her son on the forehead.
"G-good. I m-missed y-you more!" He exclaimed squeezing her tightly in a bear hug.
"Aww not more than I did," she said walking over to me. "How was he?"
"An absolute angel," I said.
"Thank you so much, I'll see you on Monday," she said.
"Alright," I said, "bye Justin."
"Umm can I have a k-"
"A hug? Sure," I cut him off as I took a step closer to him. He wrapped his arms around me taking me into a hug as my cheeks burned a bright red.
Pattie watched us as we hugged and then pulled away. I turned towards the door as I heard Justin say, "Bye bye."
"Bye," I said walking out.
I let a deep breath out as I walked towards my car, unlocking it and going inside. I drove home in silence; my radio was off and I had a clear mind. I didn't know what to think. As soon as I reached my parkway I started thinking about the events of these past two days. It was crazy to think that I was basically Justin's girlfriend. I shouldn't be, I'm engaged to someone else!
It's going to slip out of him, one day he's going to tell Pattie and I'm going to be in serious trouble.
I rested my head on the steering wheel trying to take deep breaths in, in order to relax.
After a couple of minutes I got out of the car and walked to the front door. I slowly unlocked the door and walked inside.
"I just got home a few minutes ago," I heard coming from the kitchen.
"Well, I really can't do anything about it the plans are already made, if he wants me to change them then I'll gladly accept a better offer."
I placed my keys down and slowly walked towards the kitchen. As soon as Xavier saw me he said, "Hold on, I'll call you later."
"Hi," I said.
He placed his hands on his hips right at the waistband of his black slacks, "I haven't seen you in almost three days and all you say is hi?"
"Well I-"
"All I got was a text that said 'hey I'm going to be gone for a few days, don't worry it's work related'. Really Mila? Is this how it's going to be every day?" He sternly asked.
"No but she asked me and I couldn't say no," I said.
"You're supposed to be a teacher not some babysitter for a teenager who can't even take care of himself," he said.
"Shut up Xavier, don't give me shit! I can do whatever the hell I want, you don't own me and you can't tell me what to do," I retorted.
"You've never spoken to me that way," he said.
"Well it's not going to be the last if you keep complying about what I do," I said.
"You know I thought this was going to be different, I thought we were going to be like normal couples who see each other everyday at least once," he said.
I rolled my eyes, "I never complained when you went away to make a building in the middle of nowhere."
"Well that was a real job not some fake job where you babysit all day," he said.
"I'm done," I said waking out of the kitchen towards the door. I grabbed my keys and started unlocking the door when I heard, "Wait."
"What?" I asked.
"Don't leave," he said.
"I don't want to be with someone who's going to control my whole life," I said.
"I'm not going to control-"
"This is how it starts, you controlling a small aspect of my life like a job and then it gets worse until you start telling me what I can wear and who I can talk to," I said.
"Please don't break off the engagement babe," he said talking my hand.
I sighed looking into those dark brown eyes of his.
"I love you and I am sorry."
I looked down walking into him so that his arms could wrap around me to give me a warm hug.
: :
"So tell me why I can't look," I said.
"Because it's a surprise," Xavier whispered into my ear as he continued pushing me.
"It smells like fish," I said.
"What else does it smell like?" He asked.
"I don't know, flowers?" I asked.
"Mhmm," he hummed.
"The floor is mushy," I said.
"It is, now listen closely," he said.
I listened to the sounds around us and after a couple of seconds I heard a splash.
"Are we at the beach?" I asked.
He took the tie off my eyes and I saw a red blanket on the sand with candles around it and white petals in the shape of a heart. In the middle there was a bottle of wine and two glasses.
I looked around and found the lifeguard's chair a few feet back. I smiled before turning towards him.
"Is this where you proposed to me?" I asked.
He nodded placing a kiss on my lips.
"I love it!" I said.
We had a lovely evening at the beach drinking wine and enjoying the sunset. We talked about or wildest dreams and our biggest ambitions. After it was dark we walked along the shore letting the waves hit our feet.
It was perfect.
This was sort of a filler? Sorry for the wait babes, thanks for being so patient xx
