Time is a touchy subject

Hayune slowly began to pull himself out of the sleepy haze he felt. He sits himself up in the bed, rubbing his eyes a bit as he glanced around. He hadn’t slept that well in a long time. He gets up, brushes his hair and teeth, and puts his usual clothes on. He steps outside his room, and sees Rust up and about as well. Hayune goes over to greet him.

“Hey Rust! How did you sleep?” Hayune says.

“Well enough. Though I hear you are a bit of an insomniac.” Rust says.

“How’d you figure that out?” Hayune asks.

“The walls are pretty thin. Either that or I have exceptional hearing. I heard you pacing for a while, and then someone went to your room and shut you up. Who did the job, By the way?” Rust asked.

“I know Azy visited me last night… that’s the most I could remember.” Hayune says.

“Interesting. Anything else you can remember?” Rust asks, a slight tone of suspicion in his voice.

“Well… all that happened was she came in to check on me, I kinda felt bad because I couldn’t sleep and I thought she was mad, but she gave me a hug instead! And I think that’s when things started going dark… that’s the last I could remember.” Hayune answered.

“Alright. Thanks for the information. Also, I have been meaning to ask… what is with those weird dots all over you? Is it some sort of strange skin disease?” Rust questioned.

“No, it’s not a skin condition! Haven’t you seen freckles before? They’re just there because genetics. Mom and dad both had the kind that only come out with a lot of sunlight, and for some reason mine are just always here. It’s not contagious, either – I can hit you with the back of my hand and you wouldn’t get them on you. It’s normal.” Hayune answers, sounding a bit offended.

“Okay. Good to know.” Rust says, looking a bit embarrassed for not knowing such information.

“Well, getting away from that topic, Let’s go find Azure! I’m supposed to be her escort, after all. And maybe they’ll have something for you to busy yourself with!” Hayune says.

He grabs Rust’s hand, and drags him along. Rust just sighs, and lets Hayune do what he wanted. He drags Rust around the halls, turning down different corridors and small passageways. Soon, Rust could see the confused look starting to surface on Hayune’s face, and even Rust couldn’t really tell where they were going.

“Do you even know where we are right now?” Rust asks.

“I… am lost.” Hayune says.

“Great. Fantastic. Are we going to ask for directions or what?” Rust asks.

“Yeah, I guess. But I feel like we’re somewhere we aren’t supposed to be. What if I get in more trouble if I’m caught here?” Hayune asked.

“You aren’t here by choice?! Didn’t you say Azure was your friend?” Rust growls.

“We are friends! Best friends. The reason I’m here is complicated, okay? Everything is very, very complicated. It’ll be so hard to explain without thinking back, and honestly… I’m just not ready to explain that. Just know I’ve got restrictions, but I’m here by choice in the end of it all, alright?” Hayune says.

“Fine. Whatever. Let’s just figure out how to get back to where everyone else is. I bet it’s some Celebi bullshit or whatever as the reason, so I won’t bother you again with asking.” Rust says, dragging Hayune along this time.

“Wait, how do you know about Celebi?” Hayune asked.

“Your tree house had a book. You talked about hanging out with Celebi in it a lot.” Rust says.
