Smile (A Naruto Fanfic)

Prologue

The man sat on the hokage monument, a sad look on his face, "forgive me, sensei, I wasn't able to save you." He clenched his fists and gritted his teeth, "if only I had killed Madara."

   "It's getting late, Obito, we should head home."

    The man looked back with a smile, "you're right, Rin," he unclenched his fists and stood up, "there's something- someone I want to see first."

   "Who?"

   "Their child."

   Her eyes widened in realization, "I- I almost forgot about him."

   They walked towards the hokage tower, knowing that the child would be there, having no other place to be.

   They reached the hokage tower and went to the hokage's office, Obito knocked on the door.

   "Enter."

   He opened the door slowly and got in.

   "Ah, Obito, I've been expecting you."

   "Hokage-sama, I came here to see their child."

   "Naruto? He's right there," the hokage pointed to a crib in the corner of the office.

   The two ninja walked to the crib and looked down at the sleeping baby.

   "He's got sensei's hair," Obito said in a whisper.

   Rin nodded. "He looks so.. peaceful."

   Obito looked up at Rin, determination filling his eyes, "I'm going to adopt him."
