Jess' POV

Wow, Lincoln looks scary with all his grounder gear and war paint on up close.
He just flung Octavia over his shoulder like she wasn't his love interest and I'm doing probably the worst thing I can.... Following them. I have two options here, either purposely be caught and get taken with her. Or wait until Lincoln goes out and help Octavia escape and then get caught. Either way, I'm doomed and going to get caught, he's not going to be as nice to me for obvious reasons. But me being a clumsy and quite heavy footed person, condemned myself to the first option. I accidently tripped over another damn tree root and faceplanted the ground and of course I just HAD to let out a tiny squeek which Lincoln happened to hear. He turned around immediately and locked eyes with me, I could see the sheer panic throughout them. He masked his emotions and stormed towards me and slammed my body into the nearby tree resulting in me blacking out.

I woke up to groaning and the shuffle of clothes which I knew came from the brunette sitting up next to me. I hissed myself from the throbbing pain at the back of my head catching the attention of the girl next to me.
"Jess?" She gasped turning her body to face mine. I just squeezed my eyes shut to ease the pain as I lifted my head off the cold solid ground we were placed on. Once I gained the energy to lift the rest of my upper body of the floor I came face to face with Octavia which I could barely see from lack of light in the cave.
"W-where are we?" I asked pretending to be clueless, I looked around the dark cave just as the girl to my right did.
"I don't know" Octavia spoke quietly. She took no notice to me while I feel the lump on the back of my head to examine her own wounded leg. I gasp in surprise when I see a shadow along the wall in front of us, catching Octavia's attention. The panicked girl struggled to get up and collapsed back on her bum after a second, she raised her hand up towards the grounder who emerged into the room.
"Please don't hurt me" She said relatively calmly, I only scoffed and sat by not moving, not that the chains would let me anyway, waiting for the grounder to heal her.
As he approached the two of us Octavia started to panic. Stuttering the same sentance again and again until he grabbed her leg.
"Noo!" She screamed as Lincoln dragged her slightly towards him, he pushed Octavia so she was laying again. He over exaggerated putting the sword to her injured leg as if to prepare her for the pain, but the struggle and cries she let out only made his gesture pointless. The singeing of her skin and the screaming that came with it made me grit my teeth and cover my ears. Half way through the burning the screams stopped indicating that she had passed out. Lincoln lifted his blade and then turned to me, my eyes widened but once he turned his back I knew I didn't need any immediate attention. Placing his red hot sword onto a nearby table I heard him sigh, I thought it would be as good enough time to make myself known.

"Mochof (thank you)" I called over to him. His head whipped round to see me smirking at him, all he seemed to be was confused, I would be too. He sent me a nod of acknowledgment before jogging back into the woods to do god knows what. I looked at my side to see Octavia still out cold, leaning my upper body gently back to the floor I remembered the shooting pain in my skull that hadn't decreased. Once my head relaxed on the ground avoiding the sensitive spot, my eyes started to flicker... I hadn't realised I was so exhausted.
____________

I awoke to a scrapping noise and footsteps returning to the little room I jolted up to see Lincoln carrying Octavia and dumping her on the ground next to me, I wasn't close enough to here what she was mumbling, her voice was overpowered by the chained Lincoln fiddled with next to my ear. He walked back over to the young girl taking both her hands and chaining them.
"Noo stop it! Stop it!" She cried, her vocals cracked as she screamed, Lincoln dragging her to the nearest wall which happened to be where I was placed. "Please don't do this" she yelled at him as he padlocked the chains to the wall and walked off. He once again walked out the room leaving Octavia crying, her head placed into her own dirt covered hands.
