Beep… Beep… Beep… The heart monitor’s beeping had slowed down thanks to Kyoko’s quick thinking. Nothing would of prepared her for the first 15-hour surgery that she had to perform out of many that were yet to come on Kuro’o.
“First the heart, then the brain, then everything else…” she said to herself, cutting open his chest with a sharp scalpel. Red blood poured out, signalling that the internal bleeding was even worse then she thought.
“Get me some a positive blood right now,” Kyoko ordered, “and get some suction in here right now!” she almost shouted at the resident in front of her.
The surgeon in front of her started her job, and the blood soon cleared up. His heart was exposed on the table, an artery and the heart itself having one or more ruptures. Bit by bit she sewed each and every tear in his cardiovascular area. By the time she finished that part of the surgery, 3 hours had passed.
Kyoko closed his chest up and proceeded to saw his skull open, being extra careful not to cut the actual brain. Once the skull removed, the surgeon slipped on some glasses that magnified her vision. She expertly checked (and stopped) for brain bleeds, careful not to damage Kuro’o’s brain any further. It took less time then she thought. Kyoko screwed his skull back together and sutured the skin shut.
“Scalpel,” the blonde woman said, holding her hand out. The most complicated part of the surgery about to start. Down the first leg the scalpel cut, pressure releasing as blood gushed out. As predicted, the bones were almost completely crushed, looking like a complex 3D puzzle. She started to put the boned back together, putting in metal rods and screws. Her technique was perfect, her hands not hesitating one bit. Any hesitation would be fatal, and she knew that all too well.
