After giving Kuro’o some painkillers, Kyoko returned to sitting on the bed. She looked over to him, smiling because she was happy that he was back.
“Would you like to go get the rhododendron with me?” she asked softly, wanting him to say yes.
Kuro’o nodded. Even though he couldn’t walk, he didn’t want to be stuck in the hospital bed until he was discharged. The blonde woman got up to get a wheelchair, exiting the room and re-entering moments after with it. She helped him on it, and by the time he got settled in the medication started to kick in. His mind started to get a bit clouded, his maturity and logic slipping away bit by bit. He looked around the hospital in awe as Kyoko pushed him around to the garden at the back.
When they got there, she put his wheelchair beside a bench that she then sat down on.
“It’s so pretty here,” he said, his eyes wide, taking in everything that he could.
Kyoko laughed, saying, “Yes, it is. This is where I’ll get the flower to make the solution”.
He grinned. Kuro’o looked like a 5 year old hyped up on sugar, bouncing up and down in his seat like he had too much energy in his body. Kyoko laughed, seeing how he acted.
“Kuro’o, are you ok?” she asked, clearly seeing that he wasn’t his usual calm and composed self.
“Aye!” he said, his voice a notch higher then usual.
Kyoko realized that she had given him too much morpheme, and that one of the side effects that occurred among certain patients was getting hyper, along with many other ones. Kyoko got the flower and put in in a plastic bag that she had brought with her.
After some time in the garden, the two headed back inside to his room. He was progressively getting more and more kiddish, giggling at everything he saw. Kyoko helped him onto his bed again when he wrapped his arms around her neck and sloppily kissed her. She pulled away and put some drowsy medication into his IV. Kuro’o saw and he frowned, lying onto the bed.
“You won’t leave me, will you Kyoko?” he asked sleepily.
She lay next to him, curling up against him as her eyes met his. “Of course not, Kuro’o. Why would I leave you?” Kyoko asked softly.
Kuro’o smiled, looking down at her. “Because I’m tipsy…?” he mumbled, giggling. The medication was starting to take effect.
She laughed softly at his childish voice. “That, my dear, would be a horrible reason to leave you. Unless, of course, you were tipsy most of the time,” she replied, feeling that he was getting more and more sleepy. He rested his head against hers while he closed his eyes. Kuro’o wrapped his arms around her and saying, “I luuuuuuuurve you, Kyoko”.
“I “lurve” you too,” she said, closing her eyes too. Some time later, they both fell asleep.
