When I got there, I was greeted by a warm voice saying,

"Hi Sam! You look great!" I blushed and beamed sheepishly, before asking,

"You can see me? It's so dark here, I thought you wouldn't be able to-"

"Um, you're standing under a streetlight..." I looked up, and was rewarded with a harsh, white light raining down on me. I was blinded for a moment, and as I rubbed my eyes angrily, I heard soft chuckles toll through the sky. As I focused more on the noise, I noticed it sounded crowded and packed full of voices.

"Are you there? At the, um-"

"Auditorium? And yes I am, can you tell?"

"Only a bit. It's loud! So many voices, and so many sounds..."

"You haven't heard the best part yet! That's coming in," there was a pause, then, "five minutes. I can't wait for you to hear it, Sam. It's insane! You'll love it."

"I bet I will. Then again, any time with you is a great time!" I heard a soft rain of giggles, and I beamed, proud of myself.

"So, exactly what do you do at a concert like this?"

"Well, if you were actually here in person, you'd sit in the audience, and face a grand wooden stage. On the stage right now are four musicians, one violinist, one violist, my friend Lizzie, who's a cellist, and one bassist, but the stage is filling with many more musicians, such as flutists and percussionists. They are preparing to play their instruments, which is what you'll hear. The stage is very large, almost like bleachers! The crowd is almost packed, if you couldn't hear, and everyone is getting ready for the concert to begin. I can't wait! It's going to be great!" I closed my eyes dreamily, allowing my mind to paint a picture of the view. It was slowly coming together when Jesse whispered,

"It's starting Sam!" I could practically feel her excitement through the clouds, and climbing up onto a higher branch, I shook, full of anxious anxiety.

When that I heard the first note of the piece, my jaw dropped in total awe as what I assumed were the cellos and tubas filled in the bass, and the flutes performed a delicate melody. It sounded beautiful and standing there, I closed my mind, allowing myself to become completely immersed in the music. It was a fast piece, sounding almost adventurous and as I listened to the repetitive beat, I found myself tapping my foot along to the beat. Smiling, I listened to every sound, from the twinkling bells to the steady bass, the trills of the flute and the short bursts of the trumpets filling my ears with delight. I jumped at every cymbal clap, and beamed at every melodious tune. When the piece ended, I exhaled, not realizing I had been holding my breath, and exclaimed,

"That- that was amazing! How do they even do that! It sounded magical, and I loved it! I could-"

"Shh Sam! They're about to start again!" I closed my mouth promptly, and, plucking another apple, waited attentively.

The next piece was a slower, sadder one, and as I listened, I noticed there was a soft, lonely cello melody and I sat in wonder, as I listened. This piece was the kind that reminded you of something you once had, but lost, and my heart hurt with melancholy. Soon the melodious cello was joined by a harmonious orchestra, and I was shocked at how the sounds blended and mixed together almost effortlessly. The rhythms were on time, and the notes fit perfectly with one another, and I sighed in pure bliss. The melancholy piece sang on for several minutes, then came to a soft end, the cello from the beginning plucking one final note. Upon hearing applause, I added my own, but it echoed among the empty air. Feeling a little lonely, I grew quiet, and sat back for the final piece.

The last piece was a jazz piece, I learned, and as the orchestra performed, I snapped my fingers as the smooth sounds filled my mind. I heard saxophones, as well as horns, violins, and double basses. It was a very fun and light piece, and there were 3 solos in this piece. I listened happily, my mood lifting significantly. My feet thumped against the wood in perfect timing, and my face fell when the fun piece was over. I clapped loudly, and heard a faint rumble of laughter before Jesse exclaimed,

"Wasn't that amazing?!"

"That was... FANTASTIC! You could hear everything, from the violins to the piano and everything! I loved the last piece, and I wish I could listen to it again and again!" I giggled, and blushing beet red, inquired,

"What did you think?"

"It was great!! Lizzie was wonderful at her solo- she was the cello solo in the second one! Can you believe she was actually worried? Oh, here she is!" She broke off then, and dangling my legs patiently, I smiled up at the stars.

The concert was more than everything I had hoped for, and I knew that this was something I would never forget. Music was magical, I thought, and I smiling and remembering the musical adventure, grinned contently. My eyes were drooping closed when Jesse returned, and upon realizing this, she said,

"I'm sorry! I was catching up with Liz.. Did you know she has a new dog now? Anyway, I should be getting home now, and you should too. It's late, and I wouldn't want you to be too tired to talk tomorrow!" Nodding in agreement, my head slid off the tree, and I shot up quickly. Mumbling my farewells, I climbed out of the tree, and headed home.
