Phil's POV

"So, since we don't have school on Monday because of Halloween, we should do something." Chris suggests while biting into his, rather disgusting, school-made pizza. His face crumples up and he spits it out in a napkin. "Egh, absolute rubbish."

Peej shakes his head and smiles fondly.

I nudge my pizza with my tail. "Yeah, we should do something. Like a sleepover? Or the Arcade?"

Dan rests his head on his hand and looks around. "We could go camping. I haven't done that since I was seven."

Instantly I'm overwhelmed with excitement. I love camping.

"Yes! Camping sounds like so much fun! Especially with you guys!" I squeal and swing my tail around, my ears pricked up. Dan smiles. "How cute."

I blush and look down. "Of course, we can do something else."

"No, camping sounds great, and my parents won't be home all weekend, I'll be bored while slowly wasting away." Peej states. Dan tosses his lunch tray into the trash. "So that settles it. We should all ask our parents first, though, obviously. Mine'll probably say yes."

Chris and I nod, and the bell rings loudly, piercing my sensitive ears. I growl, because all the Nekos have complained about this, and the school staff refuses to do anything about it.

I wave bye to my friends with my tail, and sprint out of the cafeteria, eager to get away from all the Neko-less humans. I catch Caspar looking at me, and I flatten my ears down at him and quickly fight my way out of there.

We haven't spoken to him since last Monday, the day that incident happened.

The week eventually comes to an end, and I get permission from my parents to go camping.

I rush up to my room, grab my old black Jansport bag, and stare down at all my clothes. I grab a Batman onezie to sleep in, then a Totoro one, and roll them up into my bag. Next are my outfits.

No shame, I instantly turn to my drawer of thigh-highs. I clap my hands excitedly when I see an unopened pair.

I carefully open them and squeal. They're black, with the bones in your legs to make it look like an x-ray.

I nod to myself and put them next to me, so I can find something that matches them. I grab my black x-ray shirt of my torso, and white shorts that barely peek out from under my shirt, since the shirt is one-size too big. I roll up the outfit together and put them in my bag next to my onezies.

My other outfit is less exciting, but I still love it. It's a pumpkin-orange shirt with bats scattered all over it, black shorts, and over-the-knee black socks striped with orange.

My shoes, which are just black and white high-top converse, can be used for both.

I pack other stuff I'll probably need, sneak a few chocolate bars from the pantry, and zip up the bag and place it next to my bed.

Dan, who's the only one with a car, is picking us all up in about an hour.

I sit down on my bed and start thinking.

Oh my god, are we all going to share the same tent? Or are we splitting up? Peej said he'll handle the tents and Chris is bringing food, but is Peej bringing one big tent or two, or three, or four? Maybe not four, he'll obviously want to be with Chris.
