“Lori watch out!” Kaylee screamed at me as a ball came flying right at my head. I dove out of the way and the red ball rebounded off the wall.
“I hate doge ball,” I muttered and quickly grabbed the red ball.
It was the first Tuesday of the month which meant dodge ball in gym class. I’m horrible at dodge ball, actually its not just dodge ball. I’m bad at sports period. The only reason I was still in was because of Darcy and Kaylee pushing me out if the way every time a ball came towards me. Darcy, Kaylee, and I were the only ones left on our team. Dax and Kal, Kaylee’s twin brother, were the only ones still left on the other team.
“Lori can I-” Darcy started to ask right before I tossed the ball to her and said:
“Knock yourself out.”
“No thanks, I’m gonna save that for Dax,” She smirked and hurled the ball across the court towards Dax, her self-proclaimed archenemy.
“What was that Parker? Was that supposed to be a throw?” Dax sneered as he slung the ball he was holding at us.
“Oh, please,” Darcy easily dodged the ball, “Its a heck of a lot better than any throw of yours.”
“Here we go again,” Kaylee whispered to me as Dax and Darcy started to fight.
“I’m surprised they lasted this long,” I laughed.
Dax and Darcy hate each other and can barely go five minutes without fighting. Darcy has never told me why she hates Dax so much. Every time I ask she just gets this really dark look and changes the subject.
“Hey, this is dodge ball, not lets-see-who-can-make-the-biggest-burn ball,” Kal interrupted.
“Oh, shut up Kal!” Darcy grabbed a ball and flung it at him.
“Ooooo, that had to hurt,” Kaylee winced as the ball hit Kal directly in the face.
“Holy mother of f-” Kal screamed right as Kaylee screamed:
“Language! God, Kal! We’re at school!”
“Yeah, Kal. What are you thinking, child? Cursing at school? I’m ashamed of you,” Darcy laughed.
“Oh please, how many times have you cursed out Mr.Evers today?” Kal asked, clutching at his forehead.
Right as Darcy was about to respond a ball flew past her and hit the wall right between Kaylee and me.
“Spork!” Kaylee and I yelled as we jumped out of the way.
“Spork? Did you both just say spork?” Dax asked, incredulously.
“We’re in school. We can’t curse, idiot!” Kaylee defended.
“Yeah, but why spork? Of all the words why s-” Dax said right before a ball hit him in the side of the head.
Darcy smirked, “Who can’t throw now as-”
“Language!” Kaylee and I screamed.
