Sabrina~

My heart beaten faster with every step. Someone was there. Someone was stalking me. 'I'm going to be killed!' runs through my minds along with a couple other horrible thoughts as the footsteps continue behind me...then I could no longer hear them...like they had stopped...I took in a deep breath before turning around, ready to fight for my life. Nothing! I glanced around the empty alley, which just seemed to be mocking me; but there was no one. There wasn't even a stinking rat around. 'It could just be my mind playing tricks on me,' I reasoned quickly, which gave me new confidence.

I raced toward home, clutching my hot latte in between my numb fingers. Luckily, I lived pretty close to the coffee cafe; so in a matter of minutes, I was home, but it was still enough time to turn me into a walking ice cube.

"Sabrina! Where did you go?" my panicked mother cried as I slid into the house, while all hope of me not being missed was gone. "Who gave you money for that?" She snatched my latte with her long, bony fingers.

"Oh...sorry...I just figured it would be ok...since it's only a few minutes away..." I mumbled as I tried to grab the latte back, but she just pulled it farther from my reach.

"Well, it's not! You're not permitted to leave this house, Sabrna Mae Zules...You should have know that or else you should have asked me first...after all I am your mother..." she spat in my face. I hated her. I hated her. I really hated her!

"This will never be home! It's not even a house! It's a tiny, smudgy apartment in the middle of no where!" I screamed at her as I raced toward my room.

"Sabrina! How dare you talk to me like that! You are grounded for a whole month!" she yelled, while snatching at my shirt and twisting my chin to make me face her.

"Grounded for what? You have taken everything away already! You just told me that I can't go out of our apartment, you took me away from all of my friends, and most of all you took me away from my love...so there is nothing left to take by grounding me! There is nothing left because of YOU!" I screamed as I clawed her face with my nails, which were my secret weapon. She quickly let go and reached up to protect her very bloody face.

There was my chance. I raced back outside and toward the woods, where she would never find me. I ran until I was out of breath and I'm beside a frozen brook. I sit down as the tears began flowing from my eyes in steady streams. I wiped them away and closed my eyes, while allowing the memories of the past fill me with happiness.

I smelled the soft, summer scent as I sat in a field of grain. "Hey," sounded a voice from behind me as he hugged me from the back.

"Hey," I replied with a smile as I recognized the mysterious visitor. I turned around and stared into his sky blue eyes, while his name popped through my mind, 'Will.'

"How are you, my princess?" I recall him saying with his loving voice, while his fingers groomed my silky hair.

"Better now that I'm with you," I whispered as he gently kissed me.

"Stay..." he commanded as he kept his gaze on my eyes.

"Always," I replied, knowing I would have to leave; but never truly wanting that to happen. He gave me another long sweet kiss that felt like it went on forever; then he was gone!

My dream world swirled away as reality took back over. I had returned to the icy woods with no one to love; then I heard footsteps. 'Who could it be?' I thought quickly with fear settling inside me as I slowly got to my feet, but I saw no one around. All I could see was trees, ice, ice, and more ice! My heart began beating faster as the unknown person sounded closer. I glanced around and searched behind the trees, but still there was no one. 'Who was my stalker? What did he want? Did he want to kill me?' I just thought...then the footsteps stopped...
