I glumly listened to the light thumping sound of the pebble that I was kicking down the dark, back alley. "I Hate new schools..." I muttered, while I knelt down to cup a handful of newly-fallen snow. I placed it against my jaw to ease the ache from where the preppy girl had left her hand print on my face. After a couple minutes, my cheek was numb and the shooting pain began to seep away.
I continued through the alley before turning left onto Corin Drive, but it was even creepier than the alley. Row after row of apartments laid abandoned and were missing tremendous chunks of the wall, making them look if you touched them that they would collapse. The windows had long been shattered by some unknown intruder, giving the feel that someone could appear from anywhere.
I frantically glanced around, thinking I heard someone. My heart stopped as I spun around a couple times, but I didn't see anyone. "Who is there?" I called out, hoping for a little girl with pigtails and a lollipop to appear, but I had no such luck. I waited for what seemed like hours, but no one answered or did I heard anymore noise.
I took a couple of deep breathes, relaxing; then I heard something again. Once more, I spun around, just waiting for a man that was dressed in black and to have a gun at my head as he steps from the shadows; but no one was there. I didn't get it. Why wouldn't he reveal himself and kill me already? I made another half turn before I heard something that sounded like a trash can rolling on a rocky road. My heart dropped again, making me feel on the edge of fainting. The intruder sounded closer than before and I asked myself, 'Why me? I wanted to live longer...make that ALOT longer!' My vision started going black and I knew my end was drawing near, but as it sounded right under me. 'Under me? What!' I glanced down, expecting not to live another minute, let along another second; but all I found was a tiny, fluffy baby bunny. 'A bunny!? All this worry about a bunny?!'
I scooped up the brown and white little creature before sitting down in middle of the abandon street. My eyes began to water, not knowing why besides the stress from the little bunny. I slowly took a few deep breathes as I stroked the unbelievable soft creature. After I felt recovered, I shakily stood up ad headed on my way to what I called Doom, but it was supposed to be called Home. I wished that it actually felt like home.
