(A poem on heartbreak??)
The day you left me,
I dined with death,
At his very own hearth.
We had a banquet,
The bread was toasted,
And the pigs roasted.
At his table of souls,
While we wined and dined,
My fate was outlined.
I had planned to join you,
Cut my wrist and watched myself bleed,
Smiling wistfully as I did the deed.
But fate had other plans for me,
The cut wasn't too deep,
And my path was too steep.
I was left with my pain and scars,
Reminders of my loss,
And crosses to bear for my cause.
And I knew,
With the surety of my life,
That I was better off with the choices God made in my life.
