Lovers entwined in heaven,
At the bank of the fiery red sun,
Took oaths to bind together,
Their souls drifting in space.
Nine whole months they loved,
And floated in ecstasy,
So in love,
So oblivious.
A heart-wrenching cry,
An ear-splitting wail of loss,
Thrust from heaven to earth.
Nine whole months they loved,
In hidden secrecy,
A few hidden caresses,
A myriad of stolen kisses.
A heart-wrenching cry,
An ear-splitting wail of discovery,
Thrust from earth to hell.
Nine whole days they hated,
The scornful looks of disgust,
The sting of hurtful bitter words,
And the undisguised hatred of society.
The decision was made,
Their fate sealed,
Untouched by judgemental society.
At the bank of the glowing moon,
Their final oath they whispered,
"Till life do us part",
And sealed it with bold kisses and love shining forth.
