Distant Melody

~Time Skip in My Perspective~

After we all made it home, most of us went to sleep... well except me. I kept thinking about all the adventures back from space, then I heard crying from the twins' room. "I got it babe."

"Okay." he whispered and turned in his sleep.

I slowly got up from the bed and made my way to the room next to ours. I went inside to see that my little ones were crying.

"Wah!" they cried.

"Aww, what's wrong my lovelies?" I said as I picked them up and cradled them. "Are you both hungry?" I asked. "Hmm, maybe you are. Let's go to the kitchen." I said as the 3 of us went out the door and to the kitchen.

~A while later~

After we came back to the nursery, I laid the babies down in their cradles while they were drinking their bottles. And I sat down on the rocking chair. "Feeling better my little ones?" I smiled warmly.

They kept drinking their milk until their bottles were empty. I smiled as I cradled both of their cradles. "You know... I should sing to you a lullaby that my mother sung to me when I was a pup.

~The music starts~

I started singing the song softly and warmly. "Once a upon a time and long ago... I heard someone singing soft and low. Now when day is done, and night is near... I recall this song I used to hear. My child, my very own. Don't be afraid, you're not alone.
Sleep until the dawn for all is well. Long ago this song was sung to me...
Now it's just a distant melody. Somewhere from the past I used to know... Once upon a time and long ago..."

I hummed the chorus as I was watching my sleeping kinder dream in their dreaming abysses.

~???'s Perspective~

After my love and I walked into what looks like a secret sewer lair, I smelled my daughter's scent in the air. "Baby, she's in that room. And..." I listened closely and gasped softly. "She's singing our song." I smiled and went inside while helping my love get passed the gate.

"Yes. I hear her too." he smiled. "Let us go surprise her." he said as he was walking towards the room.

I followed him and went to the door frame of the room, the room was a nursery. And in the rocking chair, it was her! It was my daughter, my one and only daughter! She was humming the chorus of our song too which made our family seashell glow a bright blue.

I stepped in and we both started to sing the last part. As we sung, she looked behind with wide eyes and started shedding tears as we sung together while she got up from the chair. I took out our family shell as we sung which made the shell glow brightly.

"My child, my very own. Don't be afraid, you're not alone. Sleep until the dawn for all is well. Long ago this song was sung to me... Now it's just a distant melody. Somewhere from the past I used to know.
Once upon a time and long ago..." we sung as we hugged each other with our eyes shedding tears together.

"M-Mother. Father. You're alive." my dear Aquamarine said as she hugged us both. "But h-how?"

"Well my dear daughter... it was actually a miracle. You see... After Red Claw and his clan left Moonstone Island, it started to rain. The rain managed to have healed my wounds and then I woke back up to life. Then I saw that the island was in ruins. I smelled your father's scent and hurried over to where he was."

~Dad's Perspective~

"After your mother had found me at the cliff, she healed my wounds partially and they were scarred. After I woke up, we both hugged each other, knowing that we have survived. But it was until I had remembered that I had sent you away in a tragical way. I was foolish to shoot you you with our sleeping darts and resulting you falling into the ocean."

"It's okay dad. You did that so you can protect me."

I smiled. "After we were healed up, we cleaned up the village and buried the villagers' bodies on the top of Pumpkin Hill and made graves to them. But we were also heartbroken that we had lost you, my only daughter." I started shedding more tears and hugged her as my wife hugs us too.

~My Perspective~

"I missed you too mom and dad." I nuzzled them both and churred in pure happiness. "I'm so happy that we're all together again."

My parents smiled and they were both surprised about my hand with the ring on it. "My darling, is this... an engagement ring?" my father asked.

"Yes dad. Leo proposed to me." I blushed.

"I would like to meet this Leo person of yours first thing in the morning." he said sternly.

"Hai father." I looked down, feeling embarrassed.

"Are these kids yours Aquamarine?" my mother smiled as she preached over the cradles with my sleeping children inside.

"Yes. My son is named Bartolommeo. And my daughter is named Dreamer."

"Are we grandparents now?" my father looked down at his grandkids.

"Yes dad."

"They're beautiful like you. But who is your mate? Is he a wolf or no?"

"He's a turtle mom. And his name's Leonardo named after the Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo Da Vinci." I said as I took a picture out of my pocket and showed it to my mom.

~Mom's Perspective~

I was looking at the picture my daughter gave me and smiled at them together. "Dearie, look at this."

My husband looked at the picture and he smiled. "He's very handsome my daughter. But I would like to talk to him in the morning. And to give him my blessing, and for my grandchildren we'll do a traditional blessing ceremony."

My daughter smiled widely. "Thank you dad. But we should get to bed. It's 2 in the morning." she blushed. "I'll go get us an air mattress." she said as she hurried down the hall.

I chuckled softly as my wife and I walked to the living room. "This place is great. I think we should live here."

"Really darling?" Aquaria said.

"Yes." I smiled and saw my daughter bring back the air mattress and some pillows and blankets.

"There you go."

"Thank you my daughter. Sleep well." I smiled as I kissed her forehead.

"Good night my love." Aquaria kissed her forehead too.

~My Perspective~

"Goodnight mommy. Goodnight daddy." I giggled as I hugged them and walked away to my room. I cuddled up to my dear love and purred as I fell asleep with a happy heart, knowing that my life was now complete.
