With each day pass by, feeling of emptiness grows like mule that sucks all the contents from your body. I haven't got any fragment of memories yet. My parents barely leave my side ever since I remembered them. I wonder if I have any friends that wonder or care about Me. No One has visited me other my parents . I keep myself awake trying to remember something to stop the hole in my heart from growing . The feeling of something important missing frustrates me as I have to remember it or I will lose it forever .
Doctor Brian visits me everyday to check my healing process. Other than my memory loss everything seems to be good. My arm cast will be removed today and I will be discharged from the hospital tomorrow but I will have to visit the hospital for therapy to get my memory back.
"Are you excited to go back home and go back to school?"said mom
I forced a smile on my face as I am not ready to face everyone. I don't remember anyone and everyone will be staring at me wondering why a clueless person has come back to school . However my parents seem really happy about me going on with life like nothing has happened or their daughter has no memory of anything.
"Yeah, can't wait to go back to school."
The rusty door squeaked as it opened revealing doctor Brian. Today his disheveled hair was not pulled now neatly combed back with glistening gel on it. The green eyes held so much happiness that could not be held back by anything. I wonder why he is happy?
" So are you ready to take of your cast?" Said doctor Brian
"Can't wait! This cast has been the earth of me. I can't even open the toliet seat because of this stupid cast." I said with bit of humour.
My parents and doctor chuckled at my irritation from the cast.
"Well now you will have your freedom from this treacherous cast!" Said doctor Brian with his arms waving in the arms.
I could not help but laugh at his silliness . I haven't met a doctor who is not serious all time or know how to laugh.
"You have to wait outside as I take off her cast" he said to my parents
Mybparentd nodded at him and left the room leaving him and I alone . Doctor Brian held huge scissors along a knife which had sharp ridges. I shrunk back into the bed trying to be away from it.
Doctor Brian laughed and said"Do not worry ! I'm just going to take off the cast with this or else I will not come off"
I nodded at him and tried not to look at the knife or the scissors . He came toward me and sat on the bed. He reached for my cast and his hand brushed against my fingers. Right when he touched my fingers, tingling feeling spread all over my body and sparks flew out. The air in the room became dense and everything around us became blur. Butterflies grew in my stomach. He held my fingers as he stared at me . His eyes held mine and were filled with something unknown. We stared at each other for couple of minutes but suddenly he shook his head and pulled his hand away. I don't why but I wanted him hold my hand and look at me as if there is nothing else in the world. The feeling of emptiness was gone when he held my hand.
Doctor Brian cleared his throat and said
"Let me take this off."
He took the cast off and cleaned my arm afterwards. I moved my arm and hissed as it hurts.
"Take it easy, try not to put pressure on it for a couple days and it will hurt for awhile."
I looked at home and noticed that he tried not to look at me.
" Get some rest and I will give you some pain killers in the morning and then you will be free to go."
He left the room before I could say something . I laid back and stared at the ceiling. What just happened? I closed my eyes and went to sleep .
