WHOOSH.
Jennifer tore through the burning streets of Sky City.
Her stomach twisted at the devastation. Limbs littered the roads. Cars had been reduced to twisted scrap, while a sea of civilians trampled over one another in a desperate attempt to escape.
She burst through the hospital doors. It was exactly what she feared. The lobby was packed beyond capacity. Nurses and doctors sprinted between the wounded, doing everything they could to save as many people as possible.
Then the explosions drew closer. Jennifer glanced through the windows. A scarlet robot hovered outside, rocket launchers mounted on its shoulders. The rockets fired.
BOOM!
Before Jennifer even realized she had moved, she was already in front of the hospital. The explosion swallowed her.
She absorbed the heat, flames engulfing her body until she became nothing but a blazing silhouette.
A woman screamed at the sight and stumbled backward. Jennifer's expression tightened. She shot toward the robot, wrapped it in a blazing ring of fire, and drove her fist through its head.
CRASH!
The robot's body dropped from the sky.
"Run! They got fucking monsters now!" Someone shouted from below.
Jennifer looked down. Cameras were pointed directly at her.
"Right." She scoffed.
More scarlet cyborgs descended from the sky. Jennifer's eyes narrowed.
"Right."

Ryan crash-landed in the street, legs wobbling from the earlier encounter. He barely steadied himself before getting to work, firing a fireball at an oncoming car and forcing it to swerve as rockets screamed past him.
He ripped the car door off, his face covered in scraps of his shirt. The driver stared up at him in terror, eyes flickering.
"GET AWAY FROM ME!" She cried.
"I'm trying to save you!"
WHAM!
A cyborg slammed into Ryan from the side, its torso tackling him through the street. Its detached limbs came flying in from different directions, each one whipping across his face with a brutal blow.
THUD! THUD! THUD!
The robot snapped fully together, bead-like golden eyes scanning Ryan from head to toe.
"Target acquired. The G-Formula."
Ryan snarled and clawed its face clean off, sending both of them crashing through an office window.
CRASH!
They tore through the glass and slammed onto the office floor. Ryan rolled to his feet as terrified employees scattered in every direction.
Behind him came a symphony of rockets. He looked up. An entire legion of scarlet robots launched into the air, scanning the building with sweeping lasers.
Ryan's eyes widened.
"EVERYBODY RUN!"
The lasers sliced through the building.
ZZZZT!
Some civilians were shredded as the floor beneath them collapsed. Ryan launched himself onto falling debris, grabbing whoever he could before they plummeted. More robots rained down gunfire.
