WHOOSH!
"Maybe if you were better." Origin whispered in Ryan's ear, " She would still be alive. "
Ryan felt his heart thump as his claws burst out. Faster than he ever had, he managed to slash Origin's torso.
With a blitz of speed, Ryan CRACKED his fist into Origin's jaw, sending him bursting down the street.
Origin raised his guard, but it wasn't fast enough. Smoke and ash split from the explosion as Origin coughed.
"You're nothing!" Origin laughed.
"SHUT UP!" Ryan ran his fingers through his hair, trying to hold back his killer headache.
Flames burst from his mouth as he roared, the area lighting up with their fiery glow. Ryan wasted no time, tackling Origin through his own flame.
Ryan sat on top of Origin, slamming his fist into Origin's guard. The street cracked, and the cars jumped with every thunderous blow.
Ryan yelled and prepared to slam another punch, but Origin caught his wrist!
"No." Origin's jets burst from his back, shooting the two of them into the air, "Just stop."
BAM!
Origin backhanded Ryan so hard that Ryan soared across the city skies. He slammed into a robot, causing it to explode on impact.
"Ryan?!" Ray looked up, seeing Ryan stop, his tail swaying back and forth.
"R-Ray?" Ryan looked down and saw Nichole continue to guide a giant crowd.
Ryan could hear Origin approaching in the distance. His heart sank.
"ROBO-BOY! GET ICE BLADE AND TSUNAMI AND GATHER EVERYONE AT THE FOOTBALL STADIUM!"
"What?"
"JUST DO IT!"
"G-got it!"
Ray kicked into high gear and vanished into the night sky. Ryan landed beside Nichole. She stared at him, stunned by what he had become.
"Go and don't look back!" Ryan roared.
The shockwave from his voice sent cars and robots flying. Nichole nodded, then unleashed a massive wave, carrying civilians through the streets as she surfed behind them on broken debris.
Ryan exhaled in relief. It lasted seconds. Origin was already behind him.
BAM!
Ryan crashed through the bricks of an apartment building. The structure began to collapse. Screams echoed from inside.
Ryan shot to his feet and caught the falling building, his arms trembling under its weight. Cracks spread through the concrete above him, showering dust onto a terrified little girl.
"I'm... trying." Ryan looked into her eyes.
The building suddenly stopped shaking. Max stood above him, holding the structure aloft. His body was covered in rock-like armor, bruises and blood still staining his battered frame.
"I got it."
Origin stood in the distance, surrounded by flames and dust. The brothers exchanged a look. No words needed.
Ryan blasted walls of fire through the building, guiding the scrambling civilians away from the collapsing structure.
Origin dashed in. Ryan met him head-on. He dug his claws into Origin's forearm and planted his feet.
