When I'm writing this, there was a book report due the next day so.. I'm back to the updating schedule of one update per week. Or maybe one update per 2 weeks. Maybe more. I dunno. Depends on what mood I'm in. Dedicated to cha_O_s, she is one of the many people who have inspired me to write a fantasy book.
Anyway, as I have said before, I'm not ready to give up on this book yet. I want to make at least 40 more chapters for this. If not, more. ALSO, regarding the POV's (Point of View for anyone who doesn't know what that is) it will consist of the following characters:
Arbiter, Kyle, Neil, Vanessa, and another character that is yet to be introduced. *NOTE: This list is subject to change in the future.*
Alright, enough dawdling, let's get to it.
Arbiter
Just after classes ended, Theos dragged them all back to his office to discuss this 'strange' feeling Neil had after lunch.
Arbiter hadn't been to Theos's office for some time; the last time being a year ago when Dylan had annoyed him to the point of no return, meaning that Arbiter had thrown - with all his strength - a punch right to his face. Dylan in return fired off a Shadow Bullet. Both had ended up in detention.
"What did you feel?" Theos asked.
Neil shrugged helplessly, "I don't know the exact feeling, but something just told me that something was rising. It felt cold and-and slimy." At the last thought, he shivered. "It felt dark."
"Not as dark as Dylan?" Arbiter joked, referring to Dylan's expertise and skill in Shadow Magic. He - after all - was ranked 1 in Shadow Magic.
Vanessa rolled her eyes, "Don't be stupid, be serious for once." Arbiter raised an eyebrow, "Oh? You want me to be serious for once?"
The mood literally grew serious as Arbiter put on his 'serious' face. "Theos," He began, "What about abilities? I know it's a bit early for a discussion about abilities, but can you tell what Neil's ability or abilities are?"
Theos pursed his lips, "I can't," Seeing the 4 teens' disappointed faces made him chuckle, "But, I know someone who can."
Chap folded his arms across his chest. "Who?" He asked. "We'll need to leave at night," Theos said, "We can't be seen going out in broad daylight or we'll all get in trouble."
Vanessa narrowed her eyes, "Answer the question old man."
"I don't look old do I? No... But I am pretty old."
"Answer the question!" Arbiter exclaimed, trying to move the conversation on.
"It's an old friend of mine. He owes me far too many times now, he'll do what I ask him to do." Theos finally said. Chap sighed in exasperation, "Noooo," He said, dragging out the 'no', "I meant, what is his name?"
"And why do you want to know?" Theos asked. "Is it bad to be curious? I don't think so, now answer the question and stop drawing out this conversation even longer," Chap grinded his teeth and Arbiter watched in amusement.
"You'll see." Theos said. "Now go and have your free time."
* * *
All Arbiter could do was ponder about the man that Theos had mentioned. Arbiter had a knack for that. Identify your target before he/she sees you. Playing FPSs and RPGs gave him kind of stuff. Madelyn didn't exactly approve of her son playing video games 24/7 but at least it helped.
Before he even knew it, it was night time. Theos had - quietly - knocked on their doors and announced that they were leaving.
"Now listen okay? Try not to step on any branches."
