I guess this is a good time to introduce the villain now. The previous chapters were mostly fillers so on to the plot!

Just a quick reminder, there will be strong language in this book. That is a reason why I turned on the mature content switch. There might be hints of smut sooo..... I think its okay. There will be gore too. So if you have a sensitive blood reaction thing-y, welp IDK what to do.

Unknown

The boy sprawled out on the floor of the tavern, hissing in pain as he clutched his burnt arm. The man laughed.

"What are you doing in this place? You aren't even a man! I was pretty sure that the signs outside specifically said, 'For ages 17 and up.'"

The boy cursed under his breath. "How did you do that?" He stared pointedly at the man's hand which was now flickering with flames. The man only laughed some more.

"How did I do what?" The man asked, letting the flames spread until it was touching his elbow. The boy pointed at his arm. "How did you let the flames - ?"

The question unfinished, the man chuckled. "Oh, this. Well you see, I found this... Glowing thing, a year ago. No idea what shape it came in by the way, but I reached out for it; like it was attracting me. Well, this thing, is a curse. It's a Sea Curse to be exact."

The boy tilted his head, obviously not knowing what a Sea Curse is. The man rolled his eyes. "A curse gives a person that it touches a magic power, but a stronger version of it."

Forming a small 'o' with his mouth, the boy then asked, "What about your magic?" Tapping his chin, the man frowned. "I never had the ability to use magic."

"So.. I'm not the only one without magic?" The boy asked, hoping that there were more out there like him.

"Well... yes. There are others out there who don't have magic. However, the black substance - whatever its called - strengthens the human body. I won't doubt that those without magic will be actually needing magic to survive, after all, they have their own strength if they concentrate on building up muscle."

The man closed his eyes. "Now, I'll have to dispose of you. My boss will ask me to sooner or later." He cracked his knuckles and flames flickered from his body. "Oh, and one more thing before you die, I'm pretty much invincible from swords, guns, and anything physical related in case you're gonna resist."

The man raised his hand to fire a Fireball, and the boy screamed. Screaming took all his dignity, considering he was already 16. Black spots filled every corner of his vision.

Blinking the darkness away, he thought he was dead. Am I in hell? Or...? The boy shook his head and looked at the man, unsure of what made him pause. That's when realization hit him. The man was laying on the floor, motionless.

A fuzzy feeling buzzed around inside the boy. Suddenly, he felt powerful. He felt as if he could conquer the world. A power hungry lust awoke inside of him, and he could feel it; he couldn't seem to resist it. So he welcomed it with open arms.

Arbiter

Arbiter groaned as his alarm clock screeched at him. Thank God it was Tuesday. He hated school on Mondays.

Quickly brushing his teeth and slipping into basketball shorts and a sweatshirt, he made his way to mutations' classes, carrying the old notebook that Neil had returned yesterday and a pen.

Arbiter felt a hand clamp down on his shoulder and turned around to recognize Neil smiling. 2 years ago, he would've jumped if that happened, but he was used to it now.
