Leni panicked at the thought of Risa laying in the hospital alone and so she shoved some of Risa's clothes in a bag, got in her car and drove off to the emergency room hoping things would be better than how she envisioned it.

"Risa Hontiveros, po."

"Family ka po?"

Without thinking, Leni blurted out. "...Girlfriend ko siya."

Leni pleaded and begged for her to be taken to where she was. "Nasa room na si Risa. Come with me."

Everything felt like a blur around her. The hallways looked hazy until they reached Risa's room. Expecting the worst, she opened the door.

Inside, she found Risa resting comfortably in bed. Superficial cuts and scratches and a sling on her arm were the only telltale signs of how she got into this situation in the first place. Physically, Risa looked fine. But lack of fire and sparkle in her eyes and the blankness of her face told another story.

Leni sat down on the chair beside the bed. "Hi, Mahal. Si Pangga ito"

Risa remained still, eyes absentmindedly staring in front of the TV. "Bakit ka nandito, Leni? Sinabi ko ba pumunta ka?"

Leni's heart shattered into tiny little pieces when Risa didn't call her Pangga.

"Loren texted me na wala ka nung session kahapon. I was worried about you. Baka ano na nangyari sa iyo."

"Iniisip mo pa pala ako?" Risa's words remained cold.

Leni choked a tear. "I do. Every single day."

"Kailangan ko pa palang masaktan para isipin mo ako." Risa turned to her with tears starting to form in her eyes.

Leni shook her head, tears falling from her own. "I'm sorry, Risa. I should've taken your feelings more seriously."

"It's okay, kasalanan ko naman eh. Ako yung masyadong nagmahal."

Leni was hurt that Risa was blaming herself. After all, she's the one who's not giving her 100 percent, not her. She would do anything just to ease her pain even for a little bit, but at this stage, nothing would help. The damage has been done.

Disappointed and dejected, she slumped her shoulders and turned her back against her. "Sige, Risa. I'll just leave you be until you're ready to talk to me. Aalis na lang ako."

She was headed straight for the door when Risa called her name. "Leni, wait!"

When Leni turned around to face her, Risa continued. "Will you stay here with me tonight?"

In a heartbeat, Leni nodded yes. "Of course."

That night, Leni never left Risa's side. She helped her get dressed from the dreary hospital gown to her favorite purple nightgown Leni packed for her. Things weren't 100 percent okay between them yet, but it was a start.

At least, Leni hoped so.
