As a student you are obliged to study. Studying for exams, studying for yourself, gaining experience.
Everybody has his own strategies to study. There is no strategy, which fits everybody. Learning strategies are individual.
I want to tell you what my learning strategies are and I'm interested in yours, too.
First, I organize the content of the lectures to priority. What underpinned the lecturer during the lecture, what is more just as information and what are details. Otherwise, it is just too much to learn and you learn unnecessary things, which are unlikely to appear in the exam.
I mark the important things for me already on the slides during the lecture.
In a second step, I write a compact summary in my own words. In my opinion, the structure is essential. For me, it must be a mix between dots, text, tables and images.
The following step is to read through the summary and to highlight with different colours.
As the very last step I meet with a fellow student. We learn together, discuss difficult parts and question each other.
This process happens over a longer period. But it can vary. Let's say between a month and a week...
