My next lesson is Latin.
I have no clue why I decided to do Latin for my GCSEs, but somehow in my strange mind that's what happened.
So I walk along the corridor in search of room 120E. Actually mainly just following our students who are moaning about Latin too. But it works because I end up turning into 120E, and I sit right at the back, away from the teacher's glares.

5 minutes later the teacher comes in. She is quite young, with beautiful chocolate brown skin and long dark hair with gold highlights. She introduces herself as Miss Rai and then begins writing on the board. She doesn't even notice me thank goodness. I hate those 'I'm-an-introduction-trying-and-failing-to-break-the-ice' kind of conversations.

Another 5 minutes later a boy walks into the classroom. Actually no, saunters is more accurate. He saunters in like he owns the place, shaking his head to get the hair out of his eyes. Miss Rai sighs, gets out a familiar lilac slip of paper and quickly writes on it, whilst saying
"Detention, Brin. Really, you could make an effort to get to class on time."
But the boy - Brin - just smiles with half his mouth and goes up to Miss Rai to take the paper from her. He has his hand on it, but hesitates, a smile playing on his lips. Then, before she can react, Brin dips down and French kisses Miss Rai!

"Brin!" She shouts. She turns back to the board quickly, but I'm sure I could see just a hint of blushing on those pretty cheeks of hers.

Brin just turns... and the whole world stops. Like time stands still. I hadn't gotten a proper look at Brin, but now he is facing right at me and I can see every detain in his face. He has high, very defined cheekbones and warm, dark eyes. His hair is slightly long at the front, and it is constantly falling into his eyes.
Basically he looks like the cliché bad boy of the school.
Which he probably is, to be honest.
I never fall for the bad boys. That's my sister's job. But I think Brin could put any of her 'boyfriends' out of the business. Seriously, it's hard to explain how gorgeous he is - my stomach is fluttering so much right now.

Then I realise that Brin is standing in front of me, leaning one elbow on my desk, and smirking at me. I jump out of my thoughts, starting, and he smirks wider.

"Finished checking me out now?" He asks.

"I-I-I...well..."

"Don't lie to me, Lemoncake."

Lemoncake?! Really?! Come on. Like really?

"Yes. Lemoncake."
Oh god, did I say that out loud?
"Well, if you are done checking me out, I wanted to say...shift. You're in my seat."
"I don't see your name on it anywhere." I retort, going for the classic comeback lines. Any embarrassment I felt before about being caught 'checking him out' vanished the moment he called me Lemoncake. So I wasn't going to let him move me out of this seat without a fight.
One that he was probably going to win, but still.

"So?"
"So it's not yours."
"Yes it is. I've sat there every day of my school life since I got here. So move your butt hun."
I stare at him, and he stares right back. We could probably go on for ages if Miss Rai haven't come up and said
"Brin, stop bothering this young lady and sit in that empty desk." She points to the one next to where I'm sitting. "Oh, and I don't recall seeing you before dear, what's your name, are you new?"

So much for no embarrassing conversations.
Oh well, may as well make a good impression while I have the chance...

"My name is Tracy Whal, I'm new at this school today." I say loudly and clearly, pushing my chair back with a scrape. "I just moved here from Southampton, a week ago. I hope to stay here a while. By the way, incase you were wondering, which I'm sure you were, I'm in Hufflepuff."

There are a few laughs, and Miss Rai looks a little taken aback but she smiles at me after a second, and nods to tell me to sit back down again. I oblige.
