Audrey's POV:
I didn't know what to do so I froze. I just stood there while Niall kept kissing me. I know, I know. I like the guy, I like him a lot. But when he kissed me, I. . . I wasn't sure if this was really happening. Niall Horan, kissing me?!
After a short while Niall stopped and pulled away, as I didn't kiss him back (like an idiot, I know). His cheeks were flushed and his eyes were downcast. He rubbed the back of his neck then looked up. He glanced at me then glanced away, while I was still frozen and speechless. He exhaled slowly, the started walking backwards, away from me. "I'm sorry. . ." He said quietly before he was too far away. I watched as he went not knowing what to do.
"Audrey, what THE HELL are you doing?!" Theresa screamed in my face as she sprinted up to me. I just stared at her in shock.
"He kissed me....Niall kissed me!" As I repeated it a huge grin grew on my face.
Theresa rolled her eyes, "Then go after him!"
I instantly shot off into the direction Niall went screaming his name. "NIALL!" I looked around and couldn't see him. My shoulders slumped as I trudged back over to Theresa.
"I didn't find him," I mumbled.
Theresa pouted, "He has to be around here, he left not to long ago."
"Well I'm gonna go watch the rest of the game, you coming?" I nodded my head towards the bleachers.
I looked back and realized that Theresa wasn't even paying attention to me, but smiling down at her phone. "Who's that?" I asked.
"No one." she said quickly with an unconvincing smile. I ripped her phone out of her hands only to see that it was Niall. I gave her phone back and walked off, a tad bit annoyed.
Who am I kidding, I was pretty mad. He kisses me, then is texting her?! Does that make sense to you?! Well it sure doesn't to me! I pretty much stomped over to my seat, and sat down angrily.
The rest of the game I sat in my seat, not even bothered to cheer when we scored. I kept ignoring Abigail's questioning stares. Harry left not to long ago, making up some lame excuse, saying his mom wanted him home.
When the game was finally over and everyone was about to leave when I saw Harry running over to Liam. The two then walked to the middle of the field.
"What the hell?" I heard Abigail say. I was just as confused.
"Is Audrey Brown still here?" A voice called from the field, probably Liam's. I looked up at Abigail, eyebrows furrowed. She shrugged her shoulders, still looking confused.
I stood up and raised my hand. When Liam caught my eye he smiled. "Can you come down here for a minute please?" I looked around to see if there was any clue as to what's happening. All I saw were a bunch of people staring at me.
So I slowly rose from where I was sitting and made my way down to the field, where they were standing. I stood there awkwardly waiting for one of them to explain. After about a minute or so of a nice little staring contest, I fake coughed, and gave them a look.
Harry shuffled his feet, and whispered something to Liam. I rolled my grey/green eyes impatiently. "Excuse me, you called me down here, you might as well explain things." I said sassily, crossing my arms.
Liam half smiled. "Okay, okay. Just, uh, hold on." He said glancing around.
Harry gave me an apologetic smile. "He should be here by now."
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Who should be what?" I ask, thoroughly confused.
Harry just held up a hand and looked around. I huffed and muttered, "Well then."
After another couple of minutes, I was done. Sighing, I pulled my sleeves down to cover my hands, glancing around impatiently. "Alright, I'm going. Goodbye." And with that I began marching off the field, and made it to the track before a strong hand grabbed my arm stopping me.
I turned around, very annoyed, but when I saw Niall looking back at me, my rude remarked fizzled. I stared at him, surprised.
"Sorry Audrey, but not yet. I'm not done." He said earnestly, his bright, beautiful blue eyes staring into mine. I felt my heart start beating, oh, about a hundred times faster. Thank you, Niall.
"Done with what?" I finally ask, snapping out of my daze.
"With us." Niall said, a sweet, shy smile over taking his face. Before I could say anything, he continued. "You see, Audrey, I know it was a little rash to kiss you back there, and well, you didn't kiss me back. But, see, I was still hoping we have an, er, chance together. Like, a chance as a couple. Because, well, I really really like you. And I want you to be mine but-"
I cut off his rant. "Niall. . ." I say slowly.
His eyes light up hopefully. "Yes?"
"Are you asking me out?" I ask, uncertain.
He grinned. "Why yes. Yes I am."
I couldn't stop my smile from growing. He finally asked me out! Niall finally asked me out! I can't believe this! After all this time. . .
"So. . .?" He said, snapping (once again) out of my daze.
"Oh, sorry. Right. YES!" I said, smiling like a maniac. His grin grew too, and he wrapped his arms around me, pulling me to his chest.
The butterflies flitted around in my stomach as I rested my head against his chest, perfectly happy for once.
But, you know, things like that don't last.
"Yes! Yes! YES! It happened!" Meg screamed, running on the field. "My SHIP HAS SAILED! FUCK YEAH MOTERFUCKERS!" She ran over to me and wrenched me away from Niall and spun me around. I smiled a little uncertainly.
"Oh, um, thanks?" I said, looking around. Theresa was jumping around in the stands, Abigail flashed me a thumbs up and gave me a wink, and Caitlyn was snogging Michael. Lovely.
I looked back over at Niall, and Harry and Liam were patting him on the back. Louis came down from the stands and have him a high-five. Then he saw me looking and gave me a wink. I looked away, a little embarrassed.
Well, maybe this night didn't turn out so bad after all.
