Eileen walked happily down the hall to Lisa's room. she walked in to find her father speaking to her. she stopped.
"oh sorry, i didn't think anyone would be here." Eileen replied.
"No, my dear, please stay. i was just leaving." Calum said standing and kissing his daughter's head.
she smiled at Eileen and when Calum was out of ear shot she rushed to her.
"Alright, i have the dress for you." she whispered pulling out the package.
Lisa giggled eagerly and opened the package to show a satin green gown. she laughed and pulled it out, standing and fitting it to herself. the gown itself was beautiful, with sleeves that were tight to her wrists that had a small cloth ring for her middle finger. it fitted went with her eyes, Eileen giggled and pulled her dark blue gown. both girls giggled already waiting till noon when the ball started.
"How are you doing your hair?" Lisa asked
"I thought about keeping it loose, Edward loves it that way." Eileen answered.
"Same goes for me, i am so excited i can hardly wait!" she exclaimed.
"Then i will leave you to get ready." Eileen said before excusing herself.
she hurried to her room where the maids had already prepared a hot bath and she let them wash her hair. once they finished she dried herself and got into the gown, sitting by the fire to let her hair dry. there was a knock at the door and she called out. Cinaed walked in smiling.
"Cinaed, what are you doing here?" she asked.
"I bought you this gift, i know that if we had a father he would have done the same." Cinaed said handing her a small box.
she opened it and gasped seeing the diamond necklace with a sapphire in the middle of each tear drop. Cinaed helped her put it on and she stared at him.
"How did you get this?" she asked.
"I asked the king for a little extra." he said with a shrug.
"Cinaed, thank you!" she exclaimed throwing her hands around his neck and hugging him.
"you don't want to ruin your gown do you?" he said with a laugh.
she nodded and pulled away, touching the necklace cautiously as if it were to break. Cinaed left with another laugh, she finished letting her hair dry and tied two strands back. she looked at herself in the mirror with a smile, for once she was not the cold blooded assassin, for once she was just a normal girl wanting to go to a majestic ball.
when the time had finally arrived Lisa and Eileen had arranged to come into the room together. Lisa was already waiting for her, Eileen giggled seeing how beautiful her friend looked. Lisa's mouth dropped when she saw her and rushed to her side.
"Eileen you look beautiful, Edward is going to love it!" she said happily.
Eileen began to say something about Lisa but the doors opened and Laird Calum smiled seeing his daughter. she walked to him, taking his arm while Eileen took his other. Eileen's eyes first landed on Edward who was staring at her a smile on his lips. she grinned, he walked over and bowed in front of her.
"May i have this dance?" he asked.
"Yes, you may." she said letting him pull her off to the dance floor.
they got into position as the music started. He smiled to her and immediately pulled her in to a dance she was not familiar with.
"you are doing great, follow my lead. try not to look at your feet too much." he whispered to her.
