♥Austin's Point Of View♥

"Austin, don't you think you should go home and take a shower? Maybe eat something, and get some proper rest?" Ms. T rested her hand on my shoulder. I looked up at her tired eyes.

"I don't want to leave her."

She sent me a sad smile. "It'll be okay. Go home, get some rest, and eat," She raised an eyebrow, making me smile slightly. "And just.. relax. Everything is going to be okay." She mumbled. I sighed, and nodded.

I stood up, running my fingers through Kenzie's hair, still drained from their natural blonde color. Her face was still pale, and her lips were turning blue-ish. But you can only notice that if you've stared at her face as long as I have.

I leaned in, placing a soft kiss on her forehead. I mentally asked her to wake up, and watched her for a couple of seconds.

But she didn't move.

The color didn't return to her cheeks, or her hair, or her lips. She was pale. Almost... Dead.

I blinked quickly, and waved at Ms. T, before walking out. I saw Kenzie's family sitting in the waiting room. Cassidy and her parents were here, too. Cass was on the phone, and looking down at her lap. I sighed, and walked over to the elevator.

As I did, a thought entered my mind. It was something that I couldn't stop thinking about, no matter how hard I tried.

What if she never wakes up?

I shuddered at the thought, and once again, tried to push it to the back of my head. But it wouldn't. I just thought more, and more about it as I got into my car.

I wanted to pull my hair out.

The thought of Kenzie never waking up from that coma... I can't deal with it. I can't.

Twenty minutes later, I arrived at my house. I walked past my mom, and up the stairs without a word. I took a quick shower, wanting to get back to Kenzie as quick as possible. When I finished my shower, I changed into a pair of black Hollister sweatpants, and a red t-shirt. I put on a random pair of shoes, and grabbed my hoodie before walking out of the room.

I walked down the stairs, and almost made it to the door, but mom blocked me. I sighed. "Take a muffin." She suggested.

"Mom-" I was about to protest, but she cut me off.

"Take a muffin." She repeated. I sighed again, turning around and walking to the kitchen. She walked after me, a satisfied smile on her face. I ate half of the muffin, satisfying her even more. I downed the muffin down, with some water.

"Thank you." She smiled.

I nodded, and smiled slightly.

She walked up to me, wrapping her arms around my torso. I wrapped my arms around her, burying my head in in the side of her neck.

"I'm scared." I whispered. She shook her head, pulling away, and leading me over to the couch in the living room.

"Don't be." She said, softly.

"How can I not be?" I asked. "Kenzie's in a coma, mom."

"Sh.. I know. But, you can't think negatively on this type of stuff, honey. You need to tell yourself everyday that she's going to get up."

I took a deep, shaky breath. "But what if she doesn't?"

I never asked that out loud. And now that I did, I wish I didn't. My chest began to hurt, and I physically felt my heart break into a million pieces.
