The doorbell rings, Ward's sign to get off the couch, where he sits with his daughter and son.
"I got it," He announces to the others people in the house, who are all in costumes and festive.
He walks across the room at picks up the candy bowl. Which is full of an assortment brights colored, individually wrapped sweets.
Grant opens the door to find a few children, who have yet to turn in for the night and count their candy.
"Trick-or-treat!" A chorus of voices say.
Ward gives the firefighter, power ranger, fairy and lion some candy. Complimenting all their costumes then sending them on their way to the next house.
He sets the candy bowl down and walks back to the couch.
"Sshh!" Brielle ushers her brother to be quiet, the toddler babbles to himself.
Grant makes an effort to minimize Caden's babbling, knowing that her daughter likes complete silence when watching her movies.
"Daddy you and Caden are too loud," she complains, pouting in her angel costume, that goes perfectly together with Caden's and contrasts Grant's devil costume.
"Sorry princess. I'll take Caden with me and go in the kitchen with Aunite Fitz and Simmons. Trip do you need anything?" Ward says picking up her 1 year old son and looking at her nephew.
Trip shakes his head 'no', too busy sorting out the candy he got in the coffee table.
Grant nods his head then walks through the decorated house to the kitchen.
Jemma and Leo sit at the table cleaning us from some Halloween themed crafts them the kids did earlier. Jemma has her head down in the table laughing hard at her husband's purple glitter covered face and shirt.
"Alright, Alright I get it. You think this is funny. Well just you wait until I get you back," Fitz proposes a threat that can't be taken seriously with his Scottish accent.
Jemma throws some more purple glitter at his face, before continuing to laugh.
Caden laughs and claps his hands, at the sight of his aunt and uncle. His smile shows of his few baby teeth that have begun to grow.
The doorbell rings and Simmons jumps up to answer it and give the children their candy.
The three adults rotate getting up to pass out candy, making sure not to make to much noise and interrupt Trip and Brielle's movie.
When the candy is nearly gone and almost all the lights are out in the street, a sign to the children that it's time to go in, there is a knock on the door.
Ward gets up as it is his turn, and walks quietly to the front door. He holds Caden with one arm and the candy bowl with the other.
The toddler sucks his thumb and has his head rested against his father's chest. His eyes slowly close and then quickly opens them, blinks a few time, then repeats the process.
Grant uses his foot in the crack of the door to open it.
"Happy Hallowe-" he starts happily to great her guest then stops when he sees who it is.
"Trick-or-treat," the guest says with a smile, her black clothes blending into the darkness of the night.
"Skye? I thought you weren't supposed to get back until Wednesday?" Ward asks surprised to see his wife.
The brown haired agent shrugs. "I really miss seeing my family. Plus I couldn't miss It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."
Ward laughs and shakes his head then ushers his wife into the door.
Skye sets her bags in the floor and takes Caden from Ward arms. Giving her son a tight squeeze, this being the first time she has ever been away from him.
Grant gives Skye a quick kiss in the cheek and then goes and tell the others that Skye has come home early.
The family of four and the family of three sit on the couches, in their costumes and watch classic Halloween movies, until they all drift asleep.
Hey Angels,
I hope you like this, it's really short and I wrote it real quick, but I wanted to put something up for Halloween. Sorry if it's to similar to other oneshots that I've written. Happy Halloween!!
