I woke up next to a little grocery store near the beach. I didn’t know where I was, the only thing that was in my head was the bang and the image of the poor dead boy. I thought I was seeing him now, right in front of me staring into my eyes. I thought I was still dreaming but then he spoke loud and clear, real word.
“Poor you, your arm. Are you ok?” I jumped and shuffled backwards on the floor scared he was a slayer but I noticed it was day. The streets were crowed with voices of hurry and kindness. Slayers never hunt at day because it is too busy and you can never tell who is vampire who is human. Now that I was fully awake I looked more closely at the person kneeling in front of me. A young brown haired, handsome faced boy with bright blue eyes, rosy cheeks and deep cherry lips, he looked kind and was obviously trying to be kind as he had taken his t-shirt off and was rapping it around my badly injured arm. He was very hot looking - for a random stranger that is and not many men would go up to a tramp looking girl on the street to see if she was ok let alone take their t-shirt off and use it as a bandage for her arm!
“What happened you look like you we’re torn apart by a shark!” The boy asked. I didn’t answer; I was too scared.
“Come on!” He said kindly lifting me off of the floor with great care.
“Shall I take you to the hospital?” He asked, but I just talkshook my head rapidly making me go all dizzy.
“Or maybe back to my hotel room? I have a spare bed and a first-aid kit so, I can treat your arm better because I don’t think my t-shirt is working very well.” He gave a little chuckle at his own joke which made me smile.
“There we go I am making you better already.” He put his arm over my shoulder and held it, while his other hand reached for my waist. He was nice but was starting to scare me a little no one can be this nice. I saw the sign on the hotel where he was taking me. It was right outside the beach, not that far from home. Surly he couldn’t afford a room in this great, grand hotel? He pulled me into the elevator and took us to the top floor, into room 302. It was a deep sea blue room with matching beds with a silver bathroom, TV and clock. It was such a beautiful room with such a calm beach feeling!
“Let’s get you sorted shall we?” He said opening a cupboard and pulling out a small green bag with a white cross on it. He gently pushed me onto one of the beds and held my arm before opening the bag and rapping my arm into a proper bandaged sling.
“There! Good as new!” He stared at me like he was waiting for an answer. So I over came my fear and spoke.
“Thank you!” I murmured, looked back at him with a small thankful smile as he laughed at me again me!
“So she dose speak? So will you be whilling to tell me your name?” I still didn’t know whether to trust him or not. But he had taken me to his room, treated my arm and was smiling at me with his great big blue eyes.
“Star... my name is Star!” I blurted out not thinking about what I was doing! He seemed really nice. I mean he took me from the streets and into a nice warm hotel room; he had treated my arm and was now trying to have a nice chat with me to make me feel better.
“And what a beautiful name that is too! My name is Flynn!” He replied looking very happy that he finally got me to speak.
“Hi.” We stirred at each other awkwardly for almost 5 minutes. Finally he broke the silence by standing up and walking over to the phone. He picked it up and spoke into it without typing any numbers.
“Do you want something to eat?” he asked in the sweetest way. I shook my head deciding I didn’t want to say too much just in case I gave something away. He nodded and placed the phone back down.
“You should get some sleep!” He suggested turning back to me.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. I tensed so scared that he had called the slayers and was one of them after all. The door opened and there stood a very young girl, even younger than me, and she was holding a bunch of newly washed sheets along with some fresh night clothes - obviously from lost property. She past them to Flynn and then left. He closed the door behind her and brought them over to me to placed them on the bed next to me.
“I’m going to eat at the diner you can come and join me if you want, but you should really sleep. I will bring you up some food if you are still awake.” I nodded again feeling a bit stupid and helpless as he left the room and closed the door. The first thing I did was run over to where the boy last was and locked the door. I wondered how bad my arm really was. I didn’t feel any pain, but that because vampire don’t feel pain not if it’s such a small wound like a gash in the arm. It didn’t seem that bad, but to be a hundred present sure I turned into a bat. This could be my last and only chance to get away. It was too hard. My wing had a huge cut from the bottom all the way up the bone. Any bigger and I would have lost half of my black silk wing. It would be idiotic to fly with this damage, even if this was the only chance I had to get home.
So I turned back into my human form, got changes into the soft silk nightgown and jumped into bed fast asleep to the sound of the soft waves and the quiet howl of a wolf in the soft woodland trees.
