Hank and I drove in silence. There was nothing to be said. There was a small chance we would find her alive.

"She's going to be okay. She's strong. And like her mama, she's a fighter."

"Thanks" I said softly. The drive was longer than normal because it was outside of Chicago.

Before we left, I asked Kim to take care of my daughter. After all, Rylie-Esmée and Eden-Grace were only three months younger than Baylie. I worried about my baby a lot. I didn't like that she was exposed to this at a really young age.

"Erin...." I shook my head and looked at Hank. "We're here". I nodded and got out of the car. Before going anywhere, I put my hands to my belly and took a couple deep breaths.

"I'm ready now." I got my gun and ran over to the swat team and everybody else. "I'm going in first." They nodded. "On three! One! Two! Three!" The swat guy shouted as I kicked the door open.

"Esmée! Esmée?" I called running through the rooms.

"Mommy?" A weak muffled little voice called.

I found her tied up in a corner. "Oh baby. I'm so sorry this happened. I'm gonna get you out of here" I rushed undoing the ties on her hands. I then took off the choker and held her in my arms. "Erin get out of there!" Jay called from outside. "Coming!" I picked up Esmée and ran to the door. "There's a bomb!" I heard. I made it out of the door when all the sudden I hear, "BOOM!". Except I can't feel anything. My ears are ringing. I try to move, but I can't.

"Erin get up!" I yelled at myself, trying to get my brain to cooperate.

The next thing I knew, my eyes were shutting even though I was trying my hardest to stay awake. "Emmi" I mumbled before giving in.

Jay's pov:
"Erin!" I shouted rushing to her and my daughter. Emmi was sitting up crying. She was in nothing but a small sheet designed to be a dress. Hank seeing us, immediately ran to us.

"Take Esmée. I got Erin" he said. I nodded and grabbed my screaming kid. Quickly covering her eyes, we ran to safety on the other side of the street where the paramedics were lined up. I set her down in the ambulance and she was still screaming. "Shh Emmi baby your safe now." I tried soothing as the paramedics loaded her into the stretcher.

Meanwhile..

"Come on Erin. Stay with me". Hank sat down next to her. "I can't lose another person I love. Camille, Justin, Olive and little Daniel. You, Jay, Esmée, Baylie and two more grandchildren to come are all I have left.

It may seem like a lot but it's not. Without you, it won't be the same. Jay will fall apart. So you need to wake up!" He yelled pounding his fist into the ground.

"Excuse me Sargent. We are going to take her to Med, you can ride along" He nodded and watched as they loaded his daughter into the ambulance.

They arrived at Chicago Med shortly after."What do we got?"

"Erin Halstead, 32. Knocked down to the ground from an explosion, 1st degree burns. BP is stable but she's unconscious.

"Okay take her to trauma 1." Maggie said. Hank followed quickly after. The doors opened again. Maggie was shocked.

"Esmée Halstead, 6. Inhaled toxins from the explosion and has a few first degree burns."

"Okay take her to trauma 2."

Soon Esmée was hysterical. "Mommy!" She screamed and cried. Jay did his best to comfort her but he wasn't getting anywhere. "Shh baby girl, mommy will come soon. Come here" He soothed holding her for a second. She calmed down a little bit before he put her in the hospital bed. "Okay sweet princess, daddy will be right back. I'm gonna go check on mommy."

She nodded and relaxed a little. Jay then walked a few feet to trauma 1, where Erin was.

She was still unconscious but doing a little better. "Do we have any idea when she's going to wake up? How are the twins?" Hank asked the doctor nervously.

"Voight. Relax." Dr.Rhodes turned to Jay and Hank. "We are expecting her to wake up sometime soon, and the twins are okay. They haven't been affected by this. But since Erin landed on her back, we have to see what damage it did when she wakes up. But there was no neurological damage. I'll check back in later."

With that, he got some sanitizer and left the room. "How's Esmée?" Hank asked Jay.

"Last time I checked on her she was a little less hysterical but still a little testy. Too much trauma today on top of being kidnapped. She needs to be home with her family." Jay responded.

Erin's Mind-
I can wake up now. It's time. 1. 2. 3. And I opened my eyes. But I couldn't breathe. I was choking on a tube in my throat. I screamed to the best of my ability to get someone's attention.

Jay finally looked over as soon as the monitor started beeping. "We need help in here! She can't breathe!" Jay yelled out at the door. Immediately April came.

"Okay Erin, I need you to relax. I'm gonna take the tube out of your throat that was helping you breathe. On three, blow out." She said.

"One..two..three." Following her instructions, she pulled the tube out of my throat. Jay immediately rushed to my side as soon as I finished coughing.

I looked over at him and took his hand. "I love you" I whispered in a raspy voice.

"I love you too babe.  How are the little babies doing?" He asked touching a hand to my exposed midriff. I put my hand in top of his and we felt the twins tumble around.

"Jay...where's Emmi?" I asked starting to panic.

"Shh. She's in the other room. Want me to get her?"

I nodded and within a minute, he was back carrying our sleeping daughter. I almost cried when I saw her. "Ez wake up sweet girl look who it is" Jay cooed rubbing her back. She rubbed her eyes and looked at me.

"Mama!" She reached for me and sat with me and Jay on the bed. "I missed you so much baby girl. I'm never letting you go again."

Just as if things couldn't get any better, Hank came in with Baylie. "Hi Baylie-Boo" I cooed bringing her into my arms. And we just enjoyed being a family.

"I missed you girls" I whispered softly into their ears as they drifted off into sleep.
