* Ava’s POV *
My time with Len was cut short when Jade called me up, panicking about something, calling an emergency meeting that sadly, I can’t refuse to. She’s my best friend, and no matter what I was busy with, I always find the time to be there for her. Especially when out of everyone from our group, she’s the least one to actually open up. And when she does, everybody just runs to her side to check what’s going on.
Len dropped me off at Will’s apartment for the sudden meet up while he went to next door and hang out at Lukas’ house. “I’ll bring you home tonight. I’ll wait for you.”
I nodded, thanking him and appreciating he was okay with it. Thinking about it, I wasn’t only changing my ways with guys, but with my life per se. For the past years, I’ve been living with a schedule, always on time and whenever I do something spontaneous, my day would be ruined.
However with Len being by my side, everything falls perfectly. He is the missing puzzle piece that completes my life. As scary as it sounds, he changed me over the weekend, though, I totally like it.
Len startled me with a kiss, closing the gap between us. His hand slowly moved up to the back of my neck, while the other hand pushed the strands of my hair that was in the way. Titling his head on the side, he pushed my head closer as both my arms traveled from his chest to around his neck. After a couple of minutes, I pulled away as he placed a kiss on the tip of my nose and pecking my lips once more.
“That shall make you feel better.” He uttered, smiling back at me. “Love it when you smile, baby!”
“Thank you. I’ll be okay.” I assured him. “I should go in.” He nodded and waited for me to get in before leaving.
Once I came inside, the panicky feeling turned into a confusion state as I saw my friends gathering around the lounge room in a circle. The only available seat, a wooden chair, can be found in the middle of the room. And it even feels weird that there was no light open. It was as if they were surprising me with a birthday cake next, though I know it wasn’t my birthday or anything.
If I weren’t in Will’s apartment, I’d say this was a club that caters to alcoholics or something in the same level.
“What’s going on?” I asked as they all pointed to the available seat without even uttering any word. But I followed their orders as I found myself sitting comfortably in it just after a minute. “Can we at least open the light?” I hated scary movies because I had vivid imaginations so obviously this was freaking me out, thinking something might come up uninvitingly, and scaring me to death.
Yet, no one talked. Not until a flashlight hovered over a photo I was familiar with, flashing it right in front of my eyes.
“What’s this?” Will asked, though it was already obvious what it was. It was the photo Len and I took earlier that I posted on his twitter account. “When are you going to tell us?”
“Oh, so this is what the whole thing’s about?” I asked, relieved that something bad didn’t happen to Jade, but I felt a bit hurt that they had to use her just so I’d be here right now.
They all nodded, but only the girls showed remorse. Joey had a smile on his face, signaling that he was okay with it but was just playing along. Will, on the other hand, was upset about the whole thing, as I wondered what is there to be mad about.
First of all, it is my relationship, and I was going to tell them when I see them. It’s not something I’d want to keep it as a secret, and since Jade invited me over to talk about some things, I thought it was the perfect time to let them know about Len and I.
