Chapter 2

Michelle Paul's Point Of View

 I woke up at about 6:30 am, I realized that I needed to go to work. I can not leave Ace alone home in these condition. I decided to take a sick leave. Its the first time I'm taking a day out. I seem like a bad girl now. I turned to see that Ace was nowhere to be found on the bed. Maybe he went to the bathroom. I just realized that I need to buy clothes for him.

First thing is to cancel work today... I went to my phone and dialed the office. After one ring, they answered. I talked about ten minutes about my sickness and bla bla bla. I hang the phone and went to search for this little boy and the dogs also.

As soon as I entered the living room, I saw them on the sofa watching television, plus the television was in mute. They did not want me to wake up. So sweet. I went and took the remote control and put some sound on the television. Ace looked up at me and I smiled saying good morning to him which he returned with a smile.

I went to sit next to him, the Hugo was as usual walking around the apartment and Jim was being as lazy as the day he was born. I spend some time watching TV and there was nothing interesting, I realize that we still have not brush our teeth. 

I stand up and said to Ace," Lets go, we are going to brush teeth." He did not say a word and follow behind me. We made our way to the bathroom, I gave him a new brush and I took my old one and we start taking care of our teeth. 

I eyed him and said," Mistake mistake, you are brushing your teeth wrong, Ace."

He looked at me and said," What? But I just brushing teeth, it does not matter if I doing it right or wrong, what count is that I'm brushing it, right?"

I was hurt and use my face to show it," Ace, when you are doing something, at less do it right or else your teeth will turn yellow. You want your teeth to turn yellow? Well, I don't want my child teeth turn yellow. So, you should brush your teeth in circles, like that," I showed him by brushing mine," Yeah, you got it."

I smiled at him which he returned. I told him to take a bath, we are going to the mall. He nodded and went inside the bathroom. I started to search some clothes for him that is appropriate and not pink. I got a shirt that will go well for him and a short that can fit. Him and I sizes are totally different. I'm like curvy type whereas he is thin. Staying with me, he will get some weight because I eat like a lot.

I went to the bathroom and gave him the clothes I choose and I went to prepare the breakfast. However, my good mood died when I found what Hugo and Jim did to my pillows. To add to the news, Hugo and Jim were nowhere to be found. Where are they? What are they destroying again? 

I yelled their name like an angry mother," Hugo! Jim!"

They came running towards me. They were waving their tails, they are happy however I'm not. I pointed at the mess, they immediately stopped waving their tail. Good, they know their mistake. Their heads which was once high with proud, were now low with shame. 

I said," I can see you created a big mess over there, very bad, I was thinking to take you guys today out when we went to the mall but as you have been bad boys, Ace and I will go alone, you stay home."

I can see by their face that they were sad, god they are giving the sad puppy look, so cute, I think I'm going to give in. No! Michelle, don't. At the same moment Ace came in the room and was surprise by the mess. I inform him by the news that Hugo and Jim are not coming with us, He was sad, it can be clearly seen but was okay with it because of the mess they created.

We entered the kitchen and I started preparing for breakfast. I first give the dogs their food, even If I'm a little angry after them, I love them dearly and again who can't love a dog, they are the best. I give Ace his milk and biscuits, I took my tea and some biscuits too. I love tea, I don't drink coffee too much, I don't like, I'm more of a tea person.

When I was over, I was going to clean the mess but Ace propose to do it, I let him and I went to prepare myself for the mall. I decide to wear my jeans and a tank top. When i was over, I did my makeup and went to wear a shoes. Its difficult to choose because I love shoes a lot. I decided to wear something simple, snicker. My watch, some accessories and never to forget credit cards.

I went to search for Ace, he was waiting patiently sitting on the sofa, the mess was cleaned. Hugo and Jim were sleeping, good, because it was going to be hard to say bye to them. I put some food and water in their plates, when they wake up and are hungry, they can eat and drink.

I moved my hands in motion to indicate Ace to be quiet and lets go. I opened the door for him and closed it behind. We walked in silent to the elevator and went to my car. When we came near it, he was amazed by my car. Yes, I know its beautiful. I'm very proud of my car, plus its green a little bit the same like of Ace's eyes. 

He looked very excited and totally amazed. Now I feel very happy. 

I said," Ready?"

He said," Yes" looking overly excited.

I make the lion roar a little more but it was worth it from the reaction of Ace. I drove to the mall and goes to the parking. It was not a long, actually it was short as I lived in the city the everything is kind of near to each other. Even the nearest coffee shop is like maximum 3 minutes walk. We got out pf the car and made our way for shopping. 

Time for shopping. Ace and I hold hands and I took him to shop to buy his clothes. Not only 2 minutes we entered the shop, we were taken cared by a smiling girl. Maybe she work over here. I tell her that I needed clothes for a 6 years old boy. I showed her Ace and she nodded and went to search for clothes. For a 6 years old, Ace does not seem like one, he looked thin. Eating meat will solve that.

The girl showed us, beautiful clothes. They were totally amazing, they will look good on him. I think I saw a pink shirt somewhere. I made Ace try it. I can see by his face that he was not a fan but he accepted anyway. Yeah, who can say no to me. I feel like an evil mother. When he returned he was looking so cute, so cute. It suits him so good, I'm afraid that I'm going to buy everything pink for him, even boxers. 

I said," Ace, oh my god, Its look amazing in you, we are definitely buying this."

He nodded his head. Even the girl agreed with me. See, never underestimate the power of a mother because she knows everything.

After spending some time in that shop, buying clothes, we moved to another one a shoes one. In that shop, we even got a discount which was great. We selected a lot of shoes. Did I ever tell that I was a shoes addict. I love them a lot. We took shoes for every occasion i can think of. Yeah, this is how I'm going to spoil my child.

After a long time in that mall, we decided to go back home. We were missing Hugo and Jim. We even bought gifts for them, they are going to be happy. We went back to the apartment. As soon as we opened the door, Hugo and Jim literally jump into us, all the shopping bags were on the floor and the dogs were licking our face indicating how much they missed us. We were both laughing, it was funny and we are happy to be back home to be so much loved.

I took the shopping bags to my room, later we are going to deal with that. I went to prepare dinner. The food and water we left for the dogs were gone, they must be very hungry. When I fished cooking I called them and put their food on their new plates, only for dogs. I put stickers on it according to their name. Sometimes, DIY in life is good. They looked happy and were waving their tails by seeing their gifts.

Then, I put Ace and mice food, we ate and went to bed, we were tired and feeling very sleepy. Just hope that tonight, Ace will not transform and went into the forest with telling me. I read news today and I saw that there are hunters everywhere in this sector. Maybe  we should move to another place, a village where there is not many activity going on. It will be good for Ace and also have forest so Ace can transform freely.

Tomorrow we will see to it. For now, I said," Good night, Ace." 

He said silently," Good night." 

I looked over to the dogs, sleeping soundly. I rest my head and went on a peaceful dream.
