Chapter 1

Michelle Paul's P.O.V

I worked in a law firm. I'm the one who manage the revenue and expenditure over there. As I have master on both Law and Economics, this was the job I got. It was also a well paid one. I was never bored. People over here are nice but you should know what you are talking about with them because they could hit you strong in your back at any moment. I, however, do not communicate too much with them. I prefer to work all this papers out.

During lunch, I always went to the ally behind the building. Its because there are two dogs who wait for me. I love them a lot. Like when I started working, they were there and they were hungry. I always bring food for them. I was thinking to take them in. I have been planning for a place for them in my apartment. I have talked with the landlord, he was okay with it.

When, I arrived to the place. I saw the dogs, Hugo and Jim. I was very excited. But what surprise me was the kid laying in between them. He was sleeping. He seem like he did not took a bath for I don't how many days. I went near them. The dogs were like barking very softly as of talking with me. I took the kid in my arms and I immediately, knew I need to take him to the home. He was cold and breathing very softly.

I stood up with him in my hands. I went to the parking where my car was. I place him in the backseat, Hugo and Jim also came inside and sat next to the little boy. I drove as fast as I could to my apartment. I already called the office to inform then for my sudden leave. They were okay with it.

As soon as I arrived at my building. I took them out and walked to my apartment. Without losing anytime, I took the little boy to my room, placed him gently on the bed and I went to prepare a good warm bath.

After some minutes, I went to take him for the bath. I noticed that he was awake and wondering where he was. I stand in front of the bed and took him in my arms. Without saying anything, I gave him a warm bath, clean him and give him an alone time enjoying the water. He did not say anything. He was calm. He had beautiful green eyes just like the forest under the daylight. I do not know why but I always got a thing for green eyes people, maybe because My favourite colour was green as well.

I gave him some cloth to change into. I did not have any good cloth for him, I just took a shirt and a short, god they were pink, it was the only I have that was kind of small for him. However, he did not complain, such a good kid.

I went to the kitchen to prepare for some food. I decided to make some pancakes and meat for the dogs. Hugo was like an over protective father, he was roaming around the apartment like checking it, if it was save. He is such a heart. Jim is the lazy one, I guess. He was laying on the sofa and i can see that he was deep in his dream.    The way he was sleeping was cute, he was laying on his back and tough out. Cutie!!

I had almost cooked everything, when the little boy came into the kitchen, he took a seat and was staring somewhere, i guess thinking. As soon as the food was ready, I turned around and saw Hugo and Jim was waiting while waving their tails. The little boy was staring intensively at the food. I placed their food in front of them. I sat next to the little boy, we ate silently. I was staring at him, god he look so cute in that cloth, pink goes well in him. Maybe I should buy pink thing for him, pink clothes and pink equipment.

When we were over, Hugo and Jim have already finished and was somewhere in the house.

I asked," What is your name, little boy?"

He looked scared, but replied slowly," My name is Ace."

I continue with the questions and answers session. I got to know that he was 6 years old, he was kicked out of the house, he did not want to tell me the reason. He said that he was with the dogs for two weeks. I was very sad for Ace. He was so cute and his parents decided to kick him.
