Chapter 16 (The unexplained)

Fate is a unexplanitory device that can be twisted in many ways. If you dont follow your fate who knows what might become of it, very scary thought there. Its been three days since Chase has recovered and....well since Ryleigh has died. After my Luna fell she disapated into thin air. The Alpha has yet to wake. I may be young but Im very wise the Alpha tells me, I want him to come back. The pack is falling apart at the news of the Luna, and the Beta cant keep it together much longer. I look up to the sky and see the stars, my mom used to tell me that each star is a wolf that has passed away. I havent found her yet but...I will keep searching for her up there as well as the luna. I go back inside and head towards the pack hospital.

"I would like to see the Alpha." My voice is squeaky.

"Ah Rika, here again? This is the fourth time this week." She pets my head.

"I know...its just I owe him you know. If it werent for Chase I wouldnt be here right now." I look at the floor with tears welling in my eyes.

"I know...here go right ahead." The nurse says sympathetically.

I walk slowly towards his door and peek inside. Chase snores softly, he looks at peace finally. I go and climb into the chair right next to the hospital bed and set the lily in his hand.

"Alpha please come back the pack needs you...a lot." I start to break into tears. "I dont know what to do anymore...I forgot what it was like to be happy and how to smile since your inncident."

I set my head down and pray for him to wake up soon. All of a sudden I feel something heavy on my head, I glance up and see Chase's arm and him smiling weakly at me.

"Rika...it has been a while huh?" He coughs and grabs the cup of water.

"Yes, but its okay. I came here to check on you." I rub the tears away.

"Wheres Ryleigh?" He looks around. "I dont smell her."

My heart breaks, he doesnt know about Luna. "Ryleigh... Alpha...she commited....sucide. The docters did everything they could to save her...." I cower away because I know how males are about their mates.

"I see...at least shes in a better place." I look up to see him smiling. "You see, Ryleigh was the next Moon Goddess and well evil took over Im assuming. She killed herself to protect the pack and I after she stabbed me. She realized what the power was doing to her and she took it away." He sighs. "Rika she left something behind and I want to give it to you, help me out of this bed now. "

I grab his hand and we walk to his room, why does he want to give me something of hers? He pulls out a small ring. "Its supposed to protect you from getting hurt, here let me see your hand."

I lift my right hand and he slpis it onto my pointer finger. I stare at the color of the gem as it turns to blue to a emerald color...my favorite. I glance at the Alpha as he leaves the room. Everything that happens is left unexplained, weather its sickness, death, depression, hatred, anything can be fixed and I will do anything to help the Alpha. Im Rika 12 years old and I will be his follower, the luna has passed and he will be weak, but with family and friends he will gain back strength. The Alpha has save me and I am thankful.
