Chapter 24

Point of view: Finn (Earlier that morning)

I woke up in a cold sweat and remembered my mission. I needed supplies to hunt my guardian. I went downstairs and into the basement. I pushed the right side of the bookcase and walked into a corridor. The bookcase closed behind me. I grabbed the unlit torch and lit it with my lighter. It's been a while since anyone has been in here. I slowly walked through the underground storage. I reached a pad locked metal door. I put in the code and opened it. There was a key inside and I put it in the keyhole. I unlocked the door and walked in. As soon as I walked in florescent lights lit up the room. I squeezed my eyes shut and slowly opened them. Eventually they adjusted and I fully opened them. I looked around me. There are weapons everywhere. They are on the walls, in boxes, on tables, in cabinets and even on the ceiling. I was amazed. There wasn't anything but weapons. I wasn't sure what to pick out. I was good at everything. I slowly walked around and touched each sharp metal tools. I decided to bring throwing knives, a sword and a spear. I put my throwing knives in a pouch in my sleeve. I put a sheath on my sword. I strapped my sword to my leg. I held my spear tightly in my hand and walked out of the weapons closet. I strolled out of the basement and into the living room. I walked out of the house and walked down the street. I ran all the way to Maive's house. I reached the forest and looked into the wood. I walked into the forest and saw a man walking out of the woods. I threw my spear near the man's head but I just pinned his hat to a tree. (I wasn't aiming for his head though) He looked over at me with his jaw dropped and he ran away. I chased him and I quickly reached him. I grabbed him by the hood and pulled him backwards. He fell back in front of me and screamed. "Please let me go!" He yelled in a frightened tone. "Why were you in the forest?" I asked him fiercely and got close to his face. He whimpered and stood up slowly. "I w-was just d-d-delivering a food t-to someone" He said nervously. His knees shook and I held my spear up to his neck. "Where is the house?" I asked with my teeth gritted. He turned slowly and pointed behind him. I smirked and he smiled nervously. I slit his throat. I could smell that he was mutant. I walked in the direction he pointed. I felt like I walked forever. Then I reached some footprints. I followed them carefully. I saw a cabin in the distance. I have to use the element of surprise so I had to sneak up on the cabin. I took the long way around. I made 2/3rd's of a circle around the house but from far away. Eventually I walked up closer to a corner without any windows around. I slowly trudged through the snow. I carefully studied the house. There's a bed room where no one has been in a while. From what I can see there is a living room, kitchen and small dinning room. I looked into the bedroom. There was a man laying there. I assumed the guardian. I decided to enter from the smaller bedroom. I unstrapped the sword from my leg and unsheathed it. I used it to help me pry open the window. I quietly crawled through and I opened the door silently. I creeped out of the room and into the dinning room. I saw Maive and ducked into the bedroom where the man was laying. I got close to him and took my sword to his neck. Then I smelled him. He smelled of dark hunter and I took my sword away but then I smelled guardian. My nose confused me. Can he be dark hunter and guardian? I crept out the window and out into the cold. I slowly walked away. I was so close but know I didn't know what to do. I would consult with my father later. So I started walking home.
