"Now prisoner 246o1, your time is up and your paroles begun. You know what that mean?" Javert looked at the convict and handed him a yellow paper, the convict smiled slightly,
"Yes! It means I'm free!"
"No!" Javert spit the word as he walked around the convict, "it's means you get your yellow ticket of leave! You are a thief!"
"I stole a loaf of bread! My sister's child was close to death," he paused at the thought of his sister and her son, "we were starving!"
"You'll starve again! Unless you learn the meaning of the law!"
"I know the meaning of those 19 years, a slave of the law!"
"5 years for what you did, the rest because you tried to run 246o1!"
"My name is JEAN VALJEAN!" The convict shot back at the inspector.
"And I'm Javert! Do not forget my name, do not forget me! 246o1!" Javert stepped aside and let Jean ValJean pass to his "bigger prison".
Jean walked out of town and breathed in the fresh air.
