One night after dinner Leo dragged me away as people started to get ready for capture the flag."Dude, I don't like being man-handled."I said, pushing him away slightly. Leo rolled his eyes."Sorry, Daphne. Anyways, you know that the Hermes, Athena, and Apollo kids are teaming up, right?" He asked, rolling back and forth on the heels of his feet.

I shrugged."I guess I do now. Why?" I ask."Just wondering if you wanted to be in position with me? Oh, that sounded wrong. I mean, share positions? As in us both be defending or attacking at the same time?"I had never seen Leo clam up before. Maybe it was pre-game jitters?"Why Leo, are you asking me out?" I joked. Leo chuckled."If I were to ask you out, I'd be more creative then that. I mean, I am an Apollo child after all."He smiled cockily, like he usually does when he's hiding something or just won a battle."Yo Leo!" Somebody yelled, catching his attention.

He nodded at then."Just a sec!" He turned back to me."So, what do you say?" He asked. I sighed."I guess, Leo."He smiled brightly down at me, flashing some of his pearly whites."Perfect. See you soon."He then did something very unexpected. He bent down at kissed me on my cheek, barely an centimeter away from my lips.

He raised both eyebrows at me then ran into the direction of the yell. I just stood there, shocked. Did that even count as a kiss? I could still feel his lips on my face, making me feel like jello all over. Whoa. Stop. What happened to my feelings for Percy? No, I did not forget about him. Okay, so I sort of blew up in his face today, but I felt sorry for t afterwards. And besides, I just met Leo about a month ago. Don't crushes form from months of knowing someone?

"Hey Daph, you coming?" Asked Grover, who I guessed was going to watch the game. I ran over to him, feeling as light as air. He raised a suspicious eyebrow in my direction."Why are you all happy? And red?"My hand went to my cheek, but then I shrugged."Excited about the game, Grover. That's all."Grover raised his eyebrows."Then why did Leo walk away smiling like an idiot?" I started to walk away, Grover hot on my heels. I sighed deeply."Grover, if I tell you something, you promise not to tell anyone? Not even Percy?" I heard Grover stop behind me.

I turned to face him fully. He wore a worried expression on his face."Yeah, Daphne. You can tell me anything."I nodded, trying to remain calm. Saying this aloud would make it real. It would make my feelings for him real."I like Percy. I mean, like-like." Grover smiled, but then it quickly faded."But I thought I saw Leo kiss you?" I sighed and turned around. I started to walk away, but Grover followed. Damn stalker.

"He didn't kiss me-kiss me. He pecked my cheek. That's all."I heard Grover sigh."Hey Daphne!" I heard Luke yell, saving me from more questions from Grover. I ran over to him happily."Heroes!" Chiron yelled as I ran up to Luke."You know the rules. The creek is the boundary line. The entire forest is fair game. All magic items are allowed. The banner must be prominently displayed, and have no more than two guards. Prisoners may be disarmed, but not be bound or gagged. No killing or maiming is allowed. I will serve as referee and battlefield medic. Arm yourselves!"

I gulped. Killing? Maiming? What was I getting into? I looked down at the tables in front of us, which held loads of equipment. Lots of helmets, bonze swords, spears, and oxhide shields coated in metal."Whoa," I heard Percy say."We're really supposed to use these?" He asked, and apparently sounded as shocked as I was.

Luke looked down at him weirdly."Unless you want to get skewered by your friends in cabin five. Here-Chiron thought these would fit. You too, Daphne. You'll be on border patrol, Percy. Daph, you'll be with Leo, who will basically be fifty feet away from Percy." He handed Percy a huge shield with a caduceus in the middle of it. It looked like it weighed a million pounds.

"Well, here's your shield."Luke handed me an oval shield that also had a caduceus in the middle.

"And this is your sword," he handed me a mid-sized bronze sword with a light blue handle. It matched the helmet, which had a blue horsehair plume on the top of it. It felt light, like it wasn't in my hands at all. It felt weird."Leo, come here!" Luke yelled. A few seconds later Leo arrived, smiling."You're paired up with Daphne."Leo smiled down at me, then winked."Blue team, forward!" Annabeth yelled, startling me.
