We camped out in the woods, underneath some tall, shady trees. It seems that teenagers like to party here, considering all of the litter and soda cans that have been flailed around.

Either teenagers or Dionysus. We all took shifts-- or we were supposed to. Percy was knocked out in seconds. But I guess that we all deserved some down tine, especially him. Even if he has been a total jerk for a few days.

"I'll take the next shift, Grover." I told him from where he was sitting. He gave me a nod and I rolled over on my small excuse for a cot. Well, fine- a bunch of leaves and my jacket.

As soon as I curled into a small ball, darkness took over my vision.

-

I was walking down a long, shady hallway. The air was bone-chilling, and when I exhaled, I could see big, whimsy blue clouds. Whoa, that came from *my* lungs?

"Daphne..." a dark, far away voice called. Unlike the voice in my head, this voice was sinister, yet captivating. I was compelled to follow it. In the next second, my feet began to move without me telling them to.

My breathing got heavier and heavier; the cold veil that was previously there was gone and replaced with hot, murky air. My lungs expanded as normal, but it would take in what seemed to be ash.

Where in Hades am I?

"Daphne..." the voice rang again. The voice seemed to be coming from down the hallway. Since I was still walking, the voice was drawing nearer and nearer.

"Bring it to me..." It called. My legs stopped. I was now at the edge of a very deep, dark, and hot canyon. I turned to look back, but the cold hallway was gone. I was now stuck down in gods know where, following a voice against my will.

"Bring it to me..." it called again. "Bring what?" I asked. My voice was hoarse and felt like I had just swallowed a thousand volcanoes, and they were spouting out hot lava.

"Daphne!" another voice called, but this one familiar. I turned away from the canyon, my eyes hurting from the heat. I rubbed my hands over my eyes. Leo was running towards me, his shaggy blond hair attached to his forehead from the heat.

"Don't do it!" he said, grabbing my shoulders. I blinked in confusion. Don't do what? Leo's blue eyes looked deep into my eyes. He was scared. What was he scared of? "Please, just trust me! You've gotta follow me!" He let go of my arm and grabbed my hand, dragging me away.

We were now running, my feet burning against the floor. I look down, then back up. Somewhere in between my hearing had gone out, leaving a high-pitched ring echoing through my mind.

Leo turned his head. He was yelling something, but I couldn't tell what. Everything was messy, hot and blurry... I felt like passing out.

"Daphne."A sharp voice said. My eyes widened. I could hear another voice, besides the female?"Look to the left and let go of Leo's hand." In contrast, I held on tighter. I'm not doing something that a voice in my head tells me to do. No way in Tartarus was I going to.

That's it.

I'm in Tartarus. It explains the voiced and the sudden change in temperature. Only the lowest of the low are sent here.

Why is Leo here?

-

I bolted upright, panting heavily. I put my hands around my neck and began to cough, gasping for air. My throat felt like it was on fire."Here!" Grover said, handing me a canteen of water.

I guzzled the whole thing down and then tossed it to the ground. Grover was kneeling awkwardly next to me, a very worried expression on his face.

"Everyone okay? I heard coughing," Annabeth said, stirring from her small cot and sitting up. I nodded. "Yeah," I rasped out. My voice sounded horrible. I licked my lips nervously."W-was I screaming?" I asked. Grover looked from me to Annabeth and back.
