I Can't
We all have that one moment of doubt
That one moment in time where that accomplishment is seen,
But never fulfilled
Because of that one famous line
I can't
People believe what you tell them
People care about how they're conceived
But they never consider their own thoughts or feelings
It's only when advice or a decision is made
That we see a change in their ways
But still they say 'I Can't
'I Can't' & 'I Won't' go hand in hand
'I Can't' & 'I Won't' can drive someone over the edge of insanity
Just shut the world out for one measure of a beat
Shut the world out and accept the defeat
People are going to tell you you can't
But when you start acting like it, that's when you really can't
And that's how dreams die
And futures fade
How ones mind can be deceived
Into accepting and conforming
Into a 'normal' life that's boring
Instead of breaking away from everyone else's everyday,
and creating a world of their own
Where I can't and I won't don't exist
It's filled with I cans and I wills
Where their will is strong
But their confidence is stronger
And a new phrase forms
I Can
We all believe in better days
We all agree we should change our ways
But no on ever goes for the gold
No one decides to be bold
Why?
Because of acceptance
Acceptance is key for them to be happy
For them to be happy they have to be accepted, for them to be accepted they have to fit in, and for them to fir in,
we're back to I can't again
When I was little I had a dream
That I'd be a country singing star
I'd stand on a stage and play my guitar
And sing the night away
But what happened to me?
Conformity, Insecurity, and I can't
I told a friend about my dream, and from her doubt sprung a seed of insecurity within me
I began to doubt myself
And gave up momentarily...
But I got back on track,
and I'm closer than before
Simply because I seen that I can will can bring you farther
And I can makes you stronger
So put down that catch phrase
And pick up another
