Back at the Shady Lane Mobile Park, Betty and Sissy share sweet tea and a porch swing, while June sits in a folding chair. Suddenly, a siren blares in the distance, cutting the stillness like a knife. All three heads whip in the same direction of the wail and watch a patrol car pull up in the driveway.
"Ah, look who's here," June says, waving.
Sheriff Johnson gets out of the patrol car, and stepping from the car, he stretches, displaying a tight belly and an enormous belt buckle with the letters: BDJ.
"Hey there!" June shouts, walking toward his car. Betty and Sissy stand.
June kisses the Sheriff on his cheek. As they approach the porch, the Sheriff stops in his tracks and stares at Betty, slowly removing his hat. He nods.
"Ladies, meet our towns' Sheriff..Big Dick Johnson."
The two girls smirk.
"Welcome to our town, ladies," Johnson says, smiling a devilish grin.
Sissy laughs. Betty has a strange look on her face.
"And Sheriff, you'll remember Savanna's sister, Betty. This here's her daughter, Sissy.
Sissy can't help herself. "Big Dick? You're kidding, right?"
Big Dick grins, nods to Betty and looks to Sissy.
"Just like the name-tag says, darling," he says, looking her over from head to toe. "And aren't you the prettiest things that's come along to this little town in a coon's age."
Sissy is uncomfortable with his stares.
"Dick's the name and big is...the game," June says, patting his backside.
Turning to Betty, Johnson says, "And you. Dang, you're the spittin' image of your sister."
Betty is also uncomfortable with his piercing eyes.
Suddenly, an explosive roar of motorcycles come blasting into the trailer park. Howling voices boom, as dozens of riders enter the trailer park and stop in front of a dilapidated trailer that sits a couple hundred feet away.
Big Dick lets out a shrill whistle towards the bikers. They stop dead in their tracks.
Big Dick's eyes glow red. This makes the Bikers scamper to their trailer. A harmonica interrupts the drama, as a weird four-note tune breaks the odd stillness. From a porch of a neighboring trailer, Creepy Guy rocks in a rocking chair; his odd grin grows across his face. As Big Dick stares at him, Creepy loses the smile and his eyes dart from Dick to the group of girls. Betty's eyes dart from Big Dick to Creepy Guy.
"Say, Dick," Betty says, breaking the awkward silence, " What's up with all the bikers?
Big Dick slowly turns. "Oohhhh, don't let that bunch get you all riled up. They don't bite. Too hard." He laughs.
"Yuck," Sissy says.
"And if they start up," he continues, "Jus' call for Big Dick, and I'll be there...quicker'n a chicken on a June-bug." He winks at June, who playfully slaps him.
"That's what friends call me. Cute, huh?" June laughs, turning to Betty. "Right Betty-boop?"
"Betty Boop? Sissy asks.
"Savanna gave me that nickname growing up. Guess it..." Betty hesitates, staring at June, "Never left."
June puts her hand on Betty's shoulder. "Still don't know what happened to such a good girl." She looks to Dick and says "Bless her heart."
Nodding, Betty adds, "We don't plan to stay forever, but..."
June interrupts, "Stay as long as you like. We got plenty of room."
Betty motions for Sissy to join her, "Well, I won't rest til I find out what happened to her."
June taps her chin, as if deep in thought. Betty notices Big Dick fiddling with his hat.
"It was the damndest thing. Just up and disappeared one night. Poof...just like that!" June says.
"When was the last time..." Betty starts.
Big Dick grabs June's arm and starts toward his squad car, interrupting with, "Well, ladies, I hate to put a monkey-wrench in this little party or yours, but me and Junebug...got some business to attend to."
"You girls go 'n make yourselves at home. And don't wait up," Junes says.
Betty glances over to see Creep Guy watching all this.
Sissy shouts sarcastically, "Thanks, Aunt June."
June turns, pats her heart and smiles a big phony smile. Waving, she says, "Bless your heart!" Then, under her breath adds, "And kiss my ass."
"Get in the car, woman," Dick says, closing June's car door.
Big Dick locks eyes with Betty, as he walks around the car. Betty shudders like someone just walked over her grave. His eyes glow red over the rim of his sunglasses.
As the car pulls away, Betty looks over to where Creepy Guy was sitting. An empty rocking chair rocks back and forth.
