Two weeks had flown by since that day in Jax's office, I decided that I would spend Friday night alone, going back in forth between two men was hard work. And I needed a day off. Even though I had only been intimate with Carter that one time, the more time I spent with Jax, the more I wanted him, it was only a matter of time, and I wasn't ready for that yet.
The kids were back at school and I was home alone. It really felt good, I hadn't been completely by myself as an adult, and I looked forward to this time of doing whatever I wanted whenever I wanted.
Being an only child, I was always a loner anyway, so tonight I decided to take a walk on the marina and have a quick bite while I was there.
I sat on the pier just enjoying the view and breeze, thinking about all that had happened. There was a small restaurant and the end of the pier that was known for their seafood. I wandered in to get a quick bite before heading home.
There was a little booth in the corner off to the side that was perfect. I was looking over the menu when I felt someone sit down across from me.
"Do you mind if I grab a bite with you, since you blew off our date?"
And there he was, Cole Hunter, we hadn't spoken since I cancelled our date.
"Sure Cole, be my guest."
"You sure your boyfriend won't be upset."
"I don't have a boyfriend, you can either stay or go, you choice."
"I thought you did, since you blew me off."
"I am dating right now, nothing exclusive, and one of them asked me not to go out with you, and I respected his request."
"So if things aren't exclusive, why I am getting the short end of the stick, I want to get to know you as well."
"Honestly Cole, while I may be dating, I don't plan on dating forever, I want to be in an exclusive relationship at some point, I want to get married again, and no offense, but your reputation precedes you. You have a type, which I fit into, but you also don't do exclusive relationships, and that's fine, that just not me. Not to mention you are bi-sexual. So there is really no need to start something that isn't going anywhere."
"This is true, but I would like to spend some time with you and have fun with you."
"That may be true, but I am not interested in being anything more than friends, but you are more than welcome to have dinner with me right now."
The funny thing is Tori never saw Jax and Jules come in the restaurant and sit in the garden area behind her, close enough to hear her conversation, but far enough that she didn't see them come in. Jax and Jules both were interested to see what would happen next.
The waitress came and took Tori and Cole's order, she really wanted to be alone, but she was trying not to be rude.
"Tori, I just don't get why I am the odd man out, I just wanna have fun, no strings, just enjoy the moment, isn't that what being single is all about."
All I could do was shake my head and laugh at Cole, he really thinks he has game, maybe he does with others, but I wasn't the one.
"Does this really work, I mean do they really buy this bullshit you are selling?"
Jax almost chokes from laughter while he is drinking as he listens to Tori a few tables away.
Even Cole had to laugh. "Actually Tori, it usually does, and you are the first person to ever call me out about it."
