I was sitting here waiting for the next bus, 4 hours away from Arcadia Bay, without knowing exactly where I was and if the bus we recommended me would come. Everything seemed to me so strange, so different from what I knew before. After 8 hours of flight I reached New-York, where I had to face the heavy traffic jam, taxi cabs honking from everywhere, the crowd of people yelling in the street watching at their cellphones without care about you or anybody else, workers hurrying to get to their offices. I must confess I was not so familiar to this environment, I used to live in a small town of Brittany where high white houses, black slated roofs faced the ocean. Biddies walked their dogs, staring at kids skating in the street; there wasn't much liveliness, no such energy like in New York or in Seattle where I finally landed to take a bus. I enjoyed the atmosphere, but I loved my country, my deepest Brittany and I felt like if I would come to miss it soon. I was scared to be unable to find landmarks in a place I do not know anything or anyone. I was scared to fail in my new school, to feel ashamed, to not succeed to scrap the past... A million of questions were raising up to my mind, strengthened by an increasing anxiety.

After 1 hour of waiting, the bus finally came. I got on board, flashed my ticket to the driver and took a seat in the very front of the bus. The journey would be long. At the radio, a mind-numbing music was playing, I can't say I particularly enjoyed it, so I decided to wear earphones and listen to my own. I picked 'Grimes' from my artist list and deep my mind into a dreamy atmosphere. Through the window, landscape was scrolling before my eyes, endless fields overcome by a bright sunshine. Everything seem to be so peaceful. After an hour on the road, I began to feel completely relaxed and decided to have a nap. I was totally jet-lagged and the only thing my eyes claimed was to be closed.

I don't know how long my rest would have lasted, but I suddenly woke up by a special newsflash on the radio. Outside the weather seemed to

have turned to grey. Far away, I watched as big clouds become devoid of their brightness; big black clouds hung threateningly.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WE INTERRUPT THIS PROGRAM TO BRING YOU IMPORTANT NEWS. A TORNADO SIGHTING HAS BEEN REPORTED ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF ARCADIA BAY! – WE RECOMMEND YOU TO STAY AT HOME AND DO NOT APPROACH THE AREA, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE..."
I couldn't hear anymore. My dream to enter one of the best art schools in the US was nearly falling to pieces. I was stunned. Everything around me seemed to have been freezing over. Outside, the weather raged on. The sky was getting darker and darker, gusts of wind more violent and rain came down, interweaving with the elements. I couldn't hear what people were saying, their voices were buzzing around me like a bee hive around my ears. Everyone seems to be panicked.

Suddenly, we stopped on the side of the road. Then, the bus driver made an announcement: "Hey guys, listen to me now. According to the weather conditions, I can't drive you to Arcadia Bay. I also received instructions from the bus company and I'll have to leave you at Portland, that's the next town over, 10 miles away from here and we can take back the road as soon as the weather permits us to keep on going."

I was totally disconcerted. I didn't know what to do, where to go. My trip in USA turned into a nightmare. I let panic set into me. I felt breathless, my heart seemed to beat like a hammer, my limbs were becoming numb and I couldn't stand it anymore; everything started to blur. I felt my body falling down, my head hit the floor - then nothing, just a black hole.
