Victoria Cavendish... she was smart, brilliant even, though bit of a know it all at times. Her hair was long, curly, and dark black, which complimented and contrasted her bright green eyes and pale skin well.
Victoria had a problem- she had a crush on Oliver Wood. Now, the fact that she had a crush wasn't the problem; no, the problem was Oliver cared about next to nothing besides Quidditch. It was the most important thing to him, and Victoria was still trying to approach him about it.
Victoria herself was pretty interested in Quidditch; it was one of the reasons she liked Oliver. Another problem she had: she couldn't simply talk about the school Quidditch teams, for she was in Ravenclaw.
Victoria had no interest in down-putting either the Gryffindor team or the Ravenclaw team, for both were pretty good, at the moment. So... yeah, talking to Oliver seemed out of her reach. It was that... every time she attempted to do so, it ended with an awkward conversation.
Victoria was walking through the halls, trying to think of how to talk to the lad. She frowned. It was her 7th year at Hogwarts, and it was her last year, yet her only interactions with Oliver were on the Quidditch field or some of the most awkward bump-into situations she's ever seen, or experienced.
Now, as far as she knew, Gryffindor was playing Slytherin for the cup, due to the unfortunate loss of Ravenclaw against Gryffindor. She was obviously going to cheer for Gryffindor, though she was a little bummed about not making it to the finals.
It happened to be the day of the match, so she walked in the direction of the pitch. Once she got there, Victoria headed up into the Ravenclaw stands. She was a little anxious herself, even if she wasn't playing.
Victoria also-somehow-found out that Gryffindor needed to beat Slytherin by 60 points, and then catch the snitch as well. How she knew, well, who knows. Word can be passed around a lot, it always has...
She waited patiently for the match to begin, sitting next to a few of her close friends. Victoria wasn't even playing, it wasn't even her house, but she was still extremely nervous. She kind of wanted Gryffindor to win- a lot.
Soon, Victoria notices the teams coming on to the field, and she shifts around. Oh... how she hopes Gryffindor can get up by 60, and Harry can catch the snitch.
Way too soon, everyone was out of the pitch, and the game started up.Before she knew it, the game had ended, and Gryffindor had won. Victoria had jumped excitedly, cheering. Her friends were smirking at her in amusement, but Victoria payed no mind to them.
Slowly, everyone started exiting the stands, most leaving with a happy expression. Well... everyone but Slytherins, for the most part. Victoria kept moving forward, wanting to talk to Oliver horribly.
Somehow, she managed to evade the crowd, and head in the direction of the locker rooms. Victoria walked briskly, and could spot the team leaving the locker room just as she got there, carrying the trophy.
Victoria stopped a bit, and followed them as they headed back towards the crowd. She moved quickly, and realized quickly they were probably going to the common room to celebrate.
Victoria managed to slip past most of the people, and went back to her friends. Apparently no one else besides the Gryffindor were allowed into the party, but, even if it wasn't the smartest thing, Victoria didn't care. She was going.
Well... Victoria ended up getting in by slipping in behind some students. No one really seemed to care, in all honesty. Actually, there were already a couple of Ravenclaw and Hufflepuffs in there anyway.
Victoria looked around, searching for Oliver, but found it somewhat hard to spot him. Eventually, she heard his voice, and looked up to see him standing on a table.
She knew he was trying to silence everyone, and a though suddenly came to Victoria's mind. Isn't this whole celebration... quite risky? Sirius Black is still on the loose... no one, again, seemed to care.
Oliver went ahead and gave a speech, talking about proud he was of his team, and how happy he was to finally get the house cup. This made Victoria slightly happy as she looked at Oliver, who was stepping off of the table.
The common room erupted in hoots and cheers, all from the Gryffindors. She smiled a tad, even though the whole place was crowded beyond her comfort.
Oliver starts to walk off elsewhere, and Victoria slips through the people, still desperate to talk to him. Oliver heads over to the corner of the room, and she continues to follow.
When Victoria finally gets over there, Oliver looks at her. Victoria sighs in relief while Oliver simply raises an eyebrow.
"Hello Victoria, what are you doing here?" Oliver questions. Victoria looks up at him.
"Like all the other people in this room, I have come here to celebrate the victory of Gryffindor. I wanted to congratulate you especially, for it is our last year, and I know how much you wanted to win." Victoria explains, standing a little straighter. Oliver nods.
"Ah... well, thank you. I appreciate it." Oliver replies, smiling the smallest bit. Victoria smiles slightly herself, then glances away awkwardly.
"I... also wanted to tell you something, for I believe I won't have enough courage to do it later..." She adds, her voice hushed a little. Oliver raises an eyebrow.
"Oh? What is it?" He questions, curious. Victoria glances at him, then looks away again, coughing awkwardly.
"... Er... I mean... I... I..." Victoria starts, but trails off. She looks back at Oliver, who simply stood there, confused yet eager to here what she had to say. Victoria tucks a strand of her long, dark hair behind her hair.
Without thinking, not caring about how dumb it was, Victoria grasped Oliver's jersey and pressed her lips to his. She quickly pulled away, her eyes wide. Why would she do that? Something so dumb... so risky...
"V-Victoria?" Oliver stutters, surprised by her actions. Victoria's eyes widen slightly, while a small blush forms on her face.
"Sorry... I'm so sorry Oliver... I didn't... I didn't mean to... but I did? I didn't think... ah, sorry!" Victoria says, freaking out a little. All she could hear were hoots, whistles, and other miscellaneous noises.
Oliver places his hands on her shoulders, which makes her calm down, and look up at him. "...Oliver, what are you-" But Victoria never finished her sentence, for Oliver had placed his lips on hers before she could.
Victoria's eyes widen even more so, still able to hear the catcalls and whistling behind her. Oliver pulled away himself, and Victoria's mouth hung slightly open. Both students blush the smallest bit, Oliver rubbing his neck awkwardly.
"Um... I like you too, Victoria." Oliver mumbles. Victoria's eyes remain widen, but soon her expression softens. She smiles, then hugs Oliver tightly. Oliver smiles softly at this, then says, "I think... I think I might like you more the Quidditch."
Victoria looks up at him, a bigger smile I her face. How wonderful...A/N
