Jingyu was always surprised at the host of fans waiting for him at the hotel. How did they all know when he'd be leaving or arriving? As it was, the groupies were out in force on his arrival. He tried to put on a neutral face and be pleasant with everyone, but his eyes will probably betray him like they normally do, especially when he's wearing his mask.

After making it upstairs, he kicked off his shoes and called room service to bring up some soup and tea. He opened his bag and pulled out his iPad and texted Weizhou, to see if he was still awake. He was for a bit longer, and wanted to FaceTime. Jingyu made the call.

"Hey Zhou, how are you? Did you eat?"

"I did. Li Hao also got all the medicines and I began taking them."

"Good. How was Dr. Huang?"

"I did. He has a very good bedside manner. How do you know him?"

"He's my father's first cousin."

"Oh, wow! I didn't realize he was your family, I like him very much."

"Good. We aren't that close, but he reached out when I was in Beijing early on with instructions to contact him if I ever needed anything."

"Err, Jingyu, how much does he know? About us, I mean."

"Everything. Like I said, I'm now living my life out in the open, and besides, there's no point in keeping things from someone who's supposed to give you the best medical care. Right?"

Weizhou nodded. "Then I really like him more, because he was very professional and helpful, even knowing all he knows."

Jingyu smiled, happy that Weizhou was feeling better, at least mentally.

Weizhou went on, "You look tired, babe. I'm sorry about last night."

"I am, I'll admit it, I did sleep on the flight though. But please don't feel bad. I'll be ok after tonight."

Weizhou teased, "Okay, you're probably looking forward to getting some sleep finally." He grinned.

Jingyu smiled ruefully and could only reply with the truth, "I'd rather be with you."

"Well, just focus on your work and know that I'll be in better health when you return. I promise to take it easy and focus on getting better." Weizhou replied.

"Okay. I won't know if I can call you tomorrow, but as soon as I find out I'll text you. Put your phone on silent so it doesn't wake you."

"I will. Go sleep, I love you."

"I love you, too." Jingyu hung up the call, mentally noting the smiling face.

It was lunchtime and Jingyu had been up since 5am. He was on a break, taking some rest, and surfing his phone. The pics of him getting in last evening, and then leaving the hotel this morning, made him look haggard and old. He winced, and made a mental note to get some pampering done at a spa soon. He chuckled at this thought - he wasn't a vain person, per se, but the way his life's journey had taken him made it so that he had to worry about such things. His image was crucial now to his brand, and future prospects. Besides, no one wanted to see a famous person in the flesh only to see that all of their photos are heavily doctored. One thing he does know, is that he's not going to fight it when age becomes obvious. He wanted to be a role model for how to look good at any stage of life. In fact, he was somewhat looking forward to the time when he'll be able to be considered 'distinguished' and maybe even have some salt in his hair. But let's not get ahead of ourselves...
