Chapter 18 - Bruised But Good

"Jingyu?"

"Hmm?"

"Will our marriage be allowed in the U.S.?"

"Yes, they refer to it as same-sex marriage there, and it became legal last year."

Weizhou was sitting up in bed, casually playing a card game on the laptop. Jingyu was laying on his back on the floor, having just finished his routine of crunches and push-ups, his arm draped over his eyes, recovering from the burning his abs were feeling.

"What about..." Weizhou hesitated, then pressed on. "...adoption?"

Jingyu's arm didn't move, nor did his body give off any other language. Without missing a beat, he answered, "It's legal. So is surrogacy." A pause, then, "I want two." Jingyu's grin showed on his face.

Weizhou smiled big. Before these recent events, they hadn't discussed things such as children, or family, or any other topic as heavy. But last evening and this morning, they learned they agreed on every topic discussed so far. It would be that way, seeing how the universe had thrown them together.

"What about you?" Jingyu asked, bringing Weizhou back from his thoughts.

"The same." Weizhou answered.

"Uhm, what about two boys." Jingyu stated, without really questioning.

Weizhou slowly closed the laptop and set it aside. He'd always pictured having one of each. Granted, this was a discussion about a topic that was several years away at the earliest.

He decided to shelve the topic for the future. "It's something we can talk more about later. I love how we both want kids."

Jingyu peeked at Weizhou from under his arm. "Me too."

Weizhou smiled at him and "mmhmm'ed". He knew that, come the time for the discussion and decision making, that Weizhou would get his way. He slipped out of bed, still naked, and slowly stepped over Jingyu and walked to the bathroom. He added a little oomph to his stride so that his butt - which he knew Jingyu was starting at - would shake and jiggle just right.

"Careful with that peacocking you're doing, I may pop that butt with a towel." Jingyu said.

Weizhou laughed, knowing he was busted. "Whatever...you like it." he accused Jingyu.

Jingyu sighed loudly and got up to join him for a shower.

Even with the uncertainty of their future, the boys felt like a great weight had been lifted from their shoulders. Added to that the joy of discussing their future life and possible family, left them in a giddy mood. Both Weizhou and Jingyu felt like they had turned a corner, out of a dark valley and into some sunlight.

This mood contributed to the antics that morning. As with such things, it's difficult to point a finger at the person that started it. One could argue that Weizhou's shot across the bow as he stepped over Jingyu was a casus belli, of sorts. Which had to be answered by Jingyu, and it could be argued that his follow-thru of his threat was the precipitating event to be blamed. Nonetheless, when these two were filled with giddiness and started down their path of a domination fight, it was as if the gods on Mt. Olympus were having their fun throwing thunder bolts around.

Jingyu followed Weizhou into the bathroom and into the shower. He lightly pinched Weizhou's firm butt cheek, ending with a kiss to the back of his neck. Weizhou moaned and turned to extend it to a proper, deep kiss.

The shower ended up being one huge make-out session, with cleaning body parts or shampooing hair sprinkled in when breaths had to be caught. Once the typical spots had been scrubbed and rinsed, the unspoken conversation suggested they dry off and just continue on the bed. Weizhou shut the water off and stepped out to grab a towel, tossing Jingyu's towel to him.
