The next few days passed quickly, both boys settling into Weizhou's new routine of physical therapy in the mornings, followed by sessions with the psychologist in the afternoons. Weizhou's strength was as if it had been waiting silently just under the surface, ready to be unlocked. His progress was surprising even An.

Jingyu would do his workout routine while Weizhou and An worked, and he'd run errands for Weizhou's family in the afternoons. Jingyu began to appreciate this new, albeit temporary, life.

In their spare time, they both found a balance between the Jingyu and Weizhou of before Bangkok, and the Jingyu and Weizhou of now. Both had each taken a small step back, giving a small space for each of them to have some breathing room. Jingyu stayed on the cot at nights; and Weizhou limited himself to showers by himself, but staying seated.

Each boy discovered that it allowed them to reset the relationship with each other, and in a way, enjoy the beginnings of a relationship that their previous circumstances had short-cut.

It was Saturday evening. Jingyu was kicked back in the plush chair with his legs up on the ottoman, and Weizhou was sitting on the edge of the bed. The week had been a full one for Weizhou, and Jingyu could see in his eyes the fatigue. "Zhou Zhou, if you need, I can ask Chenwen and Fengsong to come another day."

Weizhou brightened up. "No... I'm looking forward to seeing them tomorrow." Jingyu smiled and nodded.

After a moment of thoughtful silence, Weizhou spoke. "Remember when we were practicing our lines for an intimate scene, and Chen and Feng had fallen asleep on the bed next to ours?"

Jingyu smiled, nodding. "Weren't they in the same pose, too?"

Weizhou laughed, nodding.

Some more silence, both enjoying the memory.

"I wonder what happened to that awful red scarf that I knitted?" Weizhou wondered aloud.

Jingyu replied, "Awful? I beg to differ. I still have it."

Weizhou gave Jingyu a surprised look, and smiled.

Jingyu smiled back. "I...occasionally pull it out, to feel it, and remember."

Weizhou was touched. He looked at Jingyu in his pajamas, leaning back in the chair and resting his head on his hand. Even though they had given some space to one another, he felt the urge to hug him. He got off the bed, walked over to Jingyu, and crawled onto Jingyu's lap; laying back against his chest and resting his head on his shoulder. He pulled Jingyu's arm onto him, Jingyu taking his other arm and completing the hug.

After a brief moment Jingyu spoke, "I'm glad you did that."

"Mmm." Weizhou grunted his agreement.

"I had grown used being able to touch you... I've missed that" murmured Jingyu.

"Me too." Weizhou agreed.

Both laid there, enjoying the warmth and listening to one another breath.

"I know we've been slowing things down a bit," Weizhou began to say. "But, can you sleep with me tonight? No expectations... I just feel so much better every time you touch me. I sleep better."

Jingyu smiled. "Of course, Zhou Zhou." He was happy that Weizhou had wanted him to.

More silence, and enjoying the moment...

"How are you doing?" Weizhou asked.

Jingyu thought for a moment, then answered. "I'm sitting here, with my love laying on me, whom I thought I wouldn't ever get to hold. I'd say I'm doing very well."
