Chapter 26 - A Weekend Apart

Weizhou returned from the spin and yoga classes he had joined. He felt pretty good, and was happy to see he hadn't lost too much endurance from the last few weeks of not working out.

Jingyu was at the table on his laptop, and on the phone. The conversation was just ending. Weizhou bent down and gave him a kiss when he hung up.

"That was Zheng Ge, there's a job in LA. I need to be there tonight." Jingyu said.

"Wow, so quickly?"

"Evidently their model backed out last minute. Some scheduling mix up. But they wanted some night shots, as well as daybreak beach photos. I should be back tomorrow afternoon." He hesitated, then asked, "Want to come with me?"

Weizhou shook his head. "If it's alright, I'll just stay here. It's a quick trip and I'd be bored."

Jingyu nodded and got up to grab some items for his overnight bag. Weizhou stripped to hop in the shower. Jingyu turned to watch Weizhou walking away from him into the bathroom. It had been a week since he had gotten hurt, and he hadn't been too interested in sex, chalking it up to his body needing to focus on repairing whatever went wrong. He smiled, now, appreciating that watching Weizhou just now had stoked the embers inside him back into that constant roaring fire.

Just my luck. I need to rush and get to the airport, but I really want to fuck his brains out.

It'll have to wait until he's back. He grimaced and continued to pack.

An hour later, they exchanged kisses and Jingyu dashed out to grab an Uber.

Weizhou spent the rest of the afternoon strolling through different furniture stores, realizing that do so seemed like a waste of time without Jingyu there. As if their connection extended to the cosmos, he received a text from the big fool just then.

JY: Made it to LA. Model that bailed is Jake Choi, look him up. Just starred in an indie film that we'd find particularly interesting. Love you!

ZZ: I'll look when I get home. Have a good time, love you more!

Weizhou smiled and left to go find food.

Jingyu's shoot was on a roof in downtown LA in the evening. They wrapped up around 1am, with instructions to meet at 6am in Malibu. He went to get as much sleep as possible.

When his alarm went off at 5:30, he glanced at his phone. Texts from the photographer said the shoot was cancelled that morning. For a region that never saw rain, it was raining. They wanted to know if Jingyu could stay until the next morning.

Jingyu sighed. It was 8:30pm in Beijing, so he called Zheng Ge. "Per your contract, your rate doubles for delays for any reason. Your call if you want to stay."

Jingyu thought about it, and decided to stay. He was sure Weizhou would understand, and he didn't want to wake him. He replied to the photographer in the affirmative, then texted Weizhou, and laid back down to sleep more.

Weizhou woke up to the text from Jingyu: 'Hey babe, give me a call when you wake up.'

He called Jingyu immediately. "Morning, sexy."

Jingyu smiled, "Morning, sexier." He got to the point, "Hey, so this morning the shoot was canceled for weather, and I was asked to stay for tomorrow morning."

Weizhou interjected, "You're staying, right?"

Jingyu smiled again. "I hope that's okay?"

"Of course! So you'll be back tomorrow at noon instead of today?"
