a/n lol yes I'm already for Christmas hunny.
-------------------------------------
We agreed not to get each other extravagant gifts but small sentimental gifts. I brought Zay to the mall with me to try and find the perfect gift for Riley.
"How about this one?" Zay said laughing, as he held up the lingerie that sign's read "For that Special Someone" I let out a small chuckle.
"Absolutely not Zay we said something sentimental not something sexual.
"Alright, fine. But maybe I'll get this for Maya."
"I don't think she'll appreciate that."

As we continued through the store, looking at dresses, sweaters, shoes and scarves I laid my eyes on the most beautiful crystal necklace. It was dainty and fragile it was on a silver chain with a small diamond pendant hanging off in a silver shell.
"Zay, Zay," I started hitting him on the arm to get his attention, as he was playing with the earrings "this one!" I said pointing at the necklace with a smile from ear to ear.
"It's perfect, dude! What's the price?" My heart sank. I looked at the tag and it said "Macy's $380" it wasn't a lot. But it seemed like Riley would be unhappy if I spent that much on her. But she was worth every last dime I ever had.
I gave my card to the cashier as she wrapped the necklace in light purple tissue paper. She swiped my card and we continued to search for Maya.

We went to the front of the store and to the back, not a success. So we proceeded to the rest of the mall.
"What did Maya ask for?" I asked Zay who was caught up gazing at the pretzel stand in amazement.
"I don't know, man. She was really vague she said 'Something not too big but something nice and shiny.' What is that supposed to mean? Like a necklace, a ring, a piece of tin foil?"
"Haha she loved that giant diamond ring Farkle gave her in eighth grade."
"Does it look like I have money for diamonds?" He said signaling his hands up and down his body.
"I don't know maybe a diamond."
"No I don't have money for a diamond." He assured me in a harshly sarcastic tone.
We spent all afternoon searching for something shiny, small and nice. Zay ended up getting her a rose gold bracelet. It was a rose gold chain bracelet with a clasp and a pendant that said "M".

We then headed to Riley's house where she was hosting a Christmas party. When we arrived, the door was open. When we entered, the whole house was covered in red, green and silver tinsel. The tree was the same as every year but this year I spotted an ornament with a picture of Riley and I. Riley approached us she was wearing a red sweater with leggings and gray suede boots. She smiled her big goofy smile at me and my heart started beating a thousand miles a minute.

Riley and I have been dating for about a year and a half now but she always made my heart beat out of my chest when she looked at me, touched me, kissed me and hugged me.  I loved her more than anything.

She embraced me as she said, "Welcome! We're going to do gift exchange before dinner. There are refreshments over on that table." As she pulled away I pecked her on the cheek, she immediately blushed.

I stood around awkwardly in the living room as her father bombarded me with questions until I finally said, "Sir you've known me since I was in seventh grade. You ask me the same questions each time and my answers never change."
"Give the kid a break, Cory." Topanga said as she came over refilling the vegetable tray.
"Fine." He swiped his hand in front of his face as he usually did.

"Okay! Present time!" Riley marched into the center of the living room and sat me down on the couch next to her. I instinctively wrapped my arm her shoulder.
"Who wants to go first?" Asked Maya sitting on the chair diagonal from Riley and I.
"I'll go!" Farkle said as he sprung out of the bench of the kitchen table and headed for the tree which was by the fire place.
"Mine is for Isadora, obviously." He smiled at her over his shoulder as he dug for his present from beneath the tree.
Isadora blushed when he smiled at him. Farkle soon made his way back to his seat where he handed the dainty pastel pink box as she unwrapped the silver bow we sat their in anticipation. She opened it to find a dainty pendant of a beaker to go on her charm bracelet. She hugged him and kissed him on the cheek as a thank you.
"Okay who's up next?" Maya asked the crowd.
"I'll go!" Zay's hand shot straight up into the air. He made his way to the tree and found the long silver box wrapped in gold ribbon. He handed to Maya and she unwrapped the bow. She lifted the lid off the box and found the rose gold bracelet. She immediately hugged Zay and put it on her wrist.

After about an hour of all of our friends exchanging gifts I still hadn't given mine to Riley and she hadn't given me hers. In admiration of their gifts, people started to leave. I stayed for a while and waited for everyone to leave. I helped Riley clean up and we walked up to Riley's room and sat in the bay window. I wrapped my arm around her neck and her head leaned into my chest as I played with her chestnut brown hair. We sat there for a while until she broke the silence. Lifting her head she began to speak, "Why haven't you given me my gift yet?" She asked teasingly.
"I was waiting."
"Waiting for what?"
"Until everyone was gone."
"Why?"
"Because I wanted this moment between us, not between 20 people."
"Lucas?" I remembered that tone of Riley's it was was like when I gave her the jelly bean up at the ski lodge.
"No Riley, it's not that." I pulled the small bag from my pocket and handed it to her. She opened the bag, admiring the lavender tissue paper she unwrapped the tissue paper and pulled out the necklace. Her eyes became as big as golf balls.
"Lucas? This is over our budget."
"I know but you're worth it." She smiled at me.
"It's beautiful." She stared at it with admiration.
"A beautiful necklace for my beautiful girlfriend." She blushed. She turned around as I took the necklace from her hands, she lifted her hair and I undid the clasp of the necklace bringing the center of the necklace to her chest and doing the clasp on the back of her neck. She put down her hair and turned back around facing me.
"I love it."
"And I love you." She smiled before cupping my face and kissing me.
"I almost forgot your gift!" She dashed over to her dresser and found the small brown box and walked back over to her spot at the bay window. She handed it to me, watching me as I opened the box to find season tickets to the Yankees.
"Thank you!"
