The Soviet Times reports:
- A meteorite landed in a pine forest approximately thirty-two kilometers away from Dragotsennost' on Sunday.
Authorities have stated that the meteorite 'exhibited slightly unnatural qualities.'
"It had a very powerful magnetic field surrounding it," Officer Vladimir Charzhinkar, the agent in charge of the investigation, stated. "We are currently working with scientific executives to determine its origins and how it slipped past the [anti-debris] field."
The anti-debris field has, thus far, prevented any extraterrestrial materials from entering the atmosphere since the beginnings of the NSU's presence on Aquilo-Nix. That's almost three hundred years.
"At this point, we believe that the meteorite's magnetic properties caused a rift in the field," Officer Charzhinkar said. "Its irregular shape may also have contributed."
The meteorite's questionable shape has been described as 'teardrop-like'. This has sparked questions of Redeemed origins. One bystander asked if the meteorite could be a new weapon prototype being developed and tested by the extremists.
"No, the meteorite is definitely not of Redeemed craftmanship," Officer Charzhinkar said. "We believe it may have been chipped off of a larger extraterrestrial body at some other location in space and then developed its strange shape during its passage through the atmosphere. However, no other asteroids in the system have been observed that exhibit the same properties as the meteorite in the forest, so the real questions are becoming, 'How did it get here?' and 'Can we trace its path to its origin?'"
Officer Charzhinkar has stated that additions are being made to the anti-debris field in order to prevent any more highly-magnetic bodies from entering the atmosphere, regardless of shape.
"So you can all sleep soundly with the knowledge that you won't wake up to a magnetic rock crashing through your roof," the officer laughed.
